Broken Essence 098 featuring Mesmer's mixed album 'Discoveries' originally aired January 19, 2022 on Subcode.  
Discoveries, a continuously mixed album, making a very specific, very special, typical Mesmer sounding musical journey, compiling tracks written, layered, and produced by the man himself, over the last decade or so.
It involves tracks that have never been released before, and which Mesmer has included in his sets, when playing out gigs and festivals.
Others may have been released previously, in one form or another, and have now finally gotten to the final version, having been re- edited and brought up to date.

Episode 4 of BCB was definitely inspired by Joe's set he played the week I guest mixed. That set has been one of my favorites of 2022.  My set is a bit of a  throw back sound to a much earlier two-part series I did in the early 2000's called "BreakTrancing." Some of my DC friends may remember those tapes.  Getting breaks remixes was a bit of rarity back then and I was one of the few playing those remixes. I made a mix  of tracks that  straddled breaks and trance that was popular at that time.

Joe Wink Subcode NYE 2022

My latest Black Coffee Breaks mix, now up to Episdoe 5. A fresh serving of 90's inspired breakbeats, groove laden melodies with a bit of a melancholy tone that works so well in dance music. Maybe it's all the minor keys. 

All tracks are from the summer months of 2023, but it's amazing to me how much of a 90's revival is happening in the breaks scene these days. Recycled drums loops, pianos galore, but the bpms  have come down a bit.

Framewerk have been long establishing an eclectic electronic style that defies genres yet maintains a deep distinctive atmosphere throughout all their music.
