Rough piece on the mandolin for this afternoon. You can even hear some sloppy fingering - proof that it's not generated by a computer (although...).
In French, "arbre à palabres" refers to the tree under which people gather to discuss, debate or listen to the village sage. It's a tradition usually associated with some African cultures but you've probably seen it somewhere else - people talking under the shade of a tree.

You and I are doing our best at conversation, keeping it light, steering clear of what we'd like to say.You leave, and the night becomes cluttered with moths, some tattered, their dumbly curious filaments startling against my cheek. How quickly, instinctively, I brush them away. Dazed, they cling to the outer darkness like pale reminders of ourselves. Others seem to want so desperately to get inside.
