It starts without rush. Natural sounds, soft pads, a diverse soundscape, open minded. Then the bass is coming in - straight and loud. A mixture of organic and electronic music, a mixture of old and new - welcome at the “Ancient Lake“, so clear and colorful. We are invited by Jonas Saalbach, a well known Live Act and producer from Berlin. On his first album he combines melodies and dancefloor elements, hard bass lines and story telling instruments.

We’ll find tracks grown with time on the album. Some are based on classical techno styles like “Driven By Madness feat. MZ Sunday Luv“ and “Hammada“. Others are made for listening and dreaming like “Thinking Of You“ and “June Gloom“. You can feel the spirit of summer in every number, the desire for adventures in the nature, the energy of the sun. Jonas Saalbach presents his summary of a year full of travels and studio nights. His cooperations with Paul Klatt for example, are an important part of his work. Berlin is a big playground for him with a lot of inspiration every day and so the album is like a story board of life, a perfect starter for a new season, energetic and unstoppably creative.

[A] SND - Forbidden:
SND opens the EP with the title track Forbidden, a collaboration with British vocalist Holly Drummond, who is no stranger to Nu Venture Records. The intro leads with Holly's soft and soothing melodic vocals, tranquil pads and powerful drums, before dropping a warm and expansive bassline, allowing you to sit back relax and unwind to this down tempo vocal Drum & Bass masterpiece.

[B] SND - Where Are You Now:
Having previously featured as a release only exclusive on Nu Venture Records Quadrify compilation, Where Are You Now has now become individually available as part of SND's Forbidden EP. This is a mellow & subdued minimal Drum & Bass track featuring; mysterious and murky pads, prevalent high hats combined with a deep & dramatic bass line & alluring female vocals, to finish this timeless composition.

[C] SND - Waterfalls:
For the EP finale SND presents us with his third track Waterfalls. Continuing the minimalistic feel of the EP this is a downtempo Drum & Bass track consisting of sharp drums, a deep and consuming bassline all expertly crafted together with mysterious pads, enchanting melodies and atmospheric vocal enhancements to create a real sense of wonder to complete this track & EP.

SND - Forbidden EP: Release Mix [NVR023: OUT NOW!]

Meet our latest addition to the label Solemn Eye. The Belgian based dj and producer already released music under his previous aliases MGC and Throb Circle on labels such as Faceless Recordings and Family Name. We’re thrilled to present you his debut EP on Atmosphere Records completed with an excellent remix by Just Emma.

Aura features a immersive vocal by the lovely and talented singer K.zia bringing the vibe to unprecedented heights. The title-track represents everything he stands for, melancholic vibes with deep immersive chords and basslines. Just Emma delivered an outstanding remix which will take the listener on an odyssey through deepest parts of House music. The German duo already released music on labels such as Katermukke and their own imprint Underyourskin Records. Wistful Ropes is the perfect track to end this superb debut EP by Solemn Eye. The track consists of spacey synths combined with a floating drum-groove and percussion-sounds. All together a must have for the supporters of the melodic side of electronic music.
