The phenomenal duo Mariner + Domingo, made a sensation with their impeccable sound, mainly focused on deep organic house sounds, where they give their career stamp by signing for prestigious record labels such as Particles, Sound Avenue, The Purr, Balkan Connection, One Of A Kind etc. In addition to all the above labels, Mariner + Domingo are constant on our label, and this time they are signing, perhaps one of the best releases so far, an edition called "I Still Feel"!
Definitely the most compact release we've released recently, where in addition to the great original, we also have remixes that Atnarco, Orange & Indigo and La Vue were in charge of!

Back in 2019, Safe Trip delivered a much-needed reissue of Trans-4m’s previously overlooked 1992 debut album, Sublunar Oracles, an ambient house and ambient techno masterpiece from Belgian brothers Stefan and Dimitri Van Elsen. Now the label has dived into their archives again to present an expanded edition of their sought-after 12” single Dencity, complete with a previously unheard cut.

While the original album version of ‘Dencity’ was a meandering journey through spacey ambient house full of ultra-dreamy ambient textures twinkling melodies and languid deep house grooves, the alternative takes originally featured on the 1992 12” were far more club-focused and dancefloor-ready.

This new edition boasts both of those gloriously kaleidoscopic and tactile revisions in freshly remastered form. There’s the EP opening ‘Urban Tribe Mix’, a bolder and heavier take featuring crunchier, weightier drums, gently psychedelic electronics and New Jersey garage style organ stabs, and the ‘Club Mix’, where saucer-eyed chords, echoing bleeps and energetic piano riffs help drive the track forwards.

Over on side B there’s a chance to check an alternative version of the Sublunar Oracles album version, as well as previously unreleased track ‘Butterflies’. Recorded during the same period as the album at the Van Elsen brothers’ home studio in Antwerp, it’s a starry, slowly unfurling ambient delight in which waves of attractive, undulating synthesizer sounds, yearning chords and deep space electronics dance away atop a shuffling, soft-touch drum machine beat. While it may have been shelved way back in 1992, it’s every bit as immersive and tactile as anything on Sublunar Oracles.

Glasgow Underground kicks off 2014 with one of its most supported records to date. We've been a fan of Motor City Drum Ensemble since the brooding and eerie "Escape To Nowhere" in 2007 - a track that sounded like someone had listened to "French Kiss" on acid and then tried to recreate what they heard. So when we started re-issuing Romanthony's classics with fresh remixes, MCDE's Danilo Plessow was always someone we wanted to on the project. It has taken 2 years to organise this mix and now it is finally here it doesn't disappoint. Taking on "Trust", most people would head straight for the vocal but Plessow instead eschews that idea for a warm, low slung dub mix reminiscent of Muzique Tropique and early Glasgow Underground releases by Studio Blue. 

There aren't make producers that manage to combine forward-thinking production and interesting musical concepts with a reputation for igniting even the coldest of dancefloors. Audiojack are one of the rare breed of producers that can do just that. Before this release the most DJ-friendly version of this song was Roman's 1995 kick-heavy vocal-loopy "Ghost Mix". Here Audiojack deliver the kind of rhythm-driven, detroit-influenced house workout that should usurp the "Ghost Mix" as the go-too choice for maximum dance-floor love.

Originally released as an ultra-limited 12" on Philomena [which are now fetching upwards of £200 on Discogs] Glasgow Underground is re-issuing the classic Dixon edit of Romanthony's The Wanderer. Much in the spirit of the original/Prescription Underground "CD #9 Version" [which Michael Mayer puts in his all time great dance records] Dixon delivers a sun-kissed, bass-heavy groove that is pure Panorama Bar house music at its very best. This will be a limited 500 only hand spray-painted release.

Originals are spot on for the soulful heads + those poolside venues and early hours.
Robosonic and Gorge both deliver amazing remixes destined for the club plays and if you are not into the vocal work, they also provided us with some good old dub takes on the tracks.

This could have been divided into 2 great releases, but.....
We decided to go for 1 AMAZING release.

Atnarko Mixtape for February Noir Podcast

Born in bear country on the Atnarko River in Northern Canada, Atnarko channels his inner bear as he deejays and produces hypnotic dance music straight from the heart of the beast. Atnarko is considered a legend of the underground house music scene in the south. He is known for his DJ sets that extend into the wee hours of the morning, taking adventurous partygoers deep into his musical den.

He also produced some of the early breaks records that defined the genre as it was emerging. These include the classic, “Tunnel Vision,” cited as an early influence by Maceo Plex, among others. As his career developed, he went on to produce many records and moved into other genres, most notably house and techno. With close to 200 releases appearing on a wide variety of labels, Atnarko’s paw prints are firmly planted in dance music.

His label, Infiltr8:Celebr8, continues to set the pace for underground events in Orlando, booking dance music friends and heroes with great success, expanding, and elevating the city’s culture. He continues to walk this path, playing and producing music he loves, regardless of boundaries. Atnarko has told his musical story far and wide over his long career and he would love to tell it to you.
