Scream

We want to play with yooouuuu!  Well, we at least want you to listen to our latest episode, Pet Sematary (1989).  This is an interesting movie to watch because viewers run the gamut of emotions, from laughing out loud to covering their eyes in terror (for about 10 min in Marie's case).  There are also some pretty solid takeaways, like keep your cats indoors, don't let toddlers play next to busy roads, and never let your significant other single-handedly pick your house.  So stop your shilly-shallying, grab a Zelda cocktail and listen up!  You know the Zelda cocktail we paired with this movie is good since we were all too willing to have 3.

Better Watch Out

this week, we are deep diving into one of the spin-offs of Night of the Living Dead: The Return of the Living Dead.  John A. Russo and George A. Romero amicably decided to make their own sequels to the classic 1968 horror movie, and this is Russo's wild-ass sequel.  We can guarantee that if you are new to this movie, you will never see what happens coming.  From naked girls to zombies learning how to use radio systems, this movie keeps you on your toes and laughing.  This movie is nothing short of iconic, and the only thing better than its soundtrack (yes, it's 80s synth) is Frank's acting (robbed of an Oscar).  Join as we do Toxic As Fuck shots and discuss sentient zombies, pubes, and how bodies should decay.

The bad news: those shirtless promos of James McAvoy were kind of misleading. If you are a door-to-door salesman, including of religion, you may want to skip our newest episode on Heretic.  This recent horror movie will have you second guessing what you think is happening, and in general, whether or not it's a horror movie.  the lead character could not have been better cast; Hugh Grant portrays such a charming and unassuming figure, you wonder if you should actually trust him. Heretic

Get in, loser, we're going...to the mall and never leaving because there is a zombie apocalypse going and and we have all our basic needs met is what the main characters of 2004 Dawn of the Dead SHOULD HAVE said.  Instead, they come up with a subpar plan and chaos ensued.  This movie pulls no punches and is quick to get to the action.  Listen up as we discuss Ving Rhames (can't get enough of him), zombie babies, and the fine line between helping obviously dead people and keeping others alive.  Paired with a Lake Michigan Froth.

Dawn of the Dead

We are always down for a reboot, so we were excited to watch and discuss 2025's Wolf Man.  This new take on a classic introduced some new elements to werewolf lore and the transformation.  However, we weren't thrilled with the movie itself.  We found it slow and a little lacking.  We did like the practical effects in this movie and there were a couple solid jump scares, but werewolf purists would do well to stay away.  Paired with a Wolf Man cocktail.

Wolf Man

Listen, we are not saying this is a cinematic masterpiece.  One of us doesn't even think this is an entertaining movie.  But 2014's Zombeavers has elements that you will never see coming, and the terrible characters will have you cheering for those zombie beavers (even though the special effects may leave a bit to be desired).  This movie is fully self aware and creats the most unlikely unbeatable villain in beavers.  Get ready for two wild cameos and some quotes that will live rent free in your brain for weeks! This movie is chock full of creepy imagery, jump scares, and unfortunately for our main characters, awful decisions. But what do you expect? Their frontal lobes aren't developed! Next up in our Halloween month is the 1980s classic, Poltergeist.  Listeners, this is the OG Insidious with a better dad. For Devil's Night, we are releasing the OG Evil Dead.  This is totally a childhood trauma movie, and one of us may be over it, while one of us is definitely not.  Besides the multiple eye close-ups, the filming techniques hit, and here is where we disagree--the makeup is unsettling.  We may not agree with every aspect of this movie, but there are 2 things we 100% do: Scott sucks and we totally would have survived this movie!

The Monkey

We've discussed some wild movies during our tenure as horror podcast hosts, but 1981's Possession takes the cake.  This movie is unlike anything we've ever seen, and we could barely string a coherent plot out of it.  Having said that, we could not look away from this movie and all the wtf moments in it.  We confidently say this movie isn't for everyone, but everyone should watch it--even if it is to take a selfie toward the end to see what face  you make when the climax hits.
