this week, we are deep diving into one of the spin-offs of Night of the Living Dead: The Return of the Living Dead.  John A. Russo and George A. Romero amicably decided to make their own sequels to the classic 1968 horror movie, and this is Russo's wild-ass sequel.  We can guarantee that if you are new to this movie, you will never see what happens coming.  From naked girls to zombies learning how to use radio systems, this movie keeps you on your toes and laughing.  This movie is nothing short of iconic, and the only thing better than its soundtrack (yes, it's 80s synth) is Frank's acting (robbed of an Oscar). The Return of the Living Dead

Alright, listeners: we did it!  We found the loudest vampire movie in existence and it is 30 Days of Night.  The plot of this movie is great in theory: the vampires don't have to hide from the sun for 30 nights so they can raise as much hell as possible.  However, there are too many plot holes and bad vampire-ing for this movie to be taken seriously.  We found ourselves talking about anything but this movie except when it came to the vampire shrieking.  Please enjoy the last unhinged 5 minutes of the podcast where we debate how to say "pull" vs "pool" and please excuse the terrible sound of the last minute and a half (technical difficulties). Gear up, listeners, because we are talking about Longlegs--where the titular character is So evil, 
Nicolas Cage, who plays him, said he never wants to play a character like that again.  This movie takes plot twists to a whole new level and is shot to amp up the scares and tension, but we have some hot takes as well.  There were a couple areas where we wanted more from this movie and we'd love to see a prequel to fill in some gaps about Nicolas Cage's character.  So Nicolas, please reconsider and do another movie so we can see more of you!  Paired with a Birthday Cake Martini.

Longlegs

On our search to find a scary vampire movie, we had a listener recommend Nosferatu--so we watched it, duh!  We always watch horror movies that are recommended to us by listeners (hint, hint)!  Our opinions were split on this movie, sorry Bill Skarsgard, our decomposing, mustachioed horror boyfriend!  We agreed that the artistry was beautiful and we appreciated some of the unique takes on this old tale, but one of us thought this movie was so boring that no even Willem Dafoe could save it. Nosferatu

In our newest episode, Allison decided to scar Marie for life by making her watch Insidious.  This 2010 paranormal horror has scares for days leading up to the climax, but do they fall off when they're needed most?  Even though the end of this movie is scary AF, we aren't sure if the sequels are worth a watch or if we should chalk Insidious up to a wannabe Poltergeist.  Listen up as we debate whether the ghosts or the worst dad ever is the scariest part of this movie and discuss just how misunderstood the lipstick-face demon is. Insidious

If you are a door-to-door salesman, including of religion, you may want to skip our newest episode on Heretic.  This recent horror movie will have you second guessing what you think is happening, and in general, whether or not it's a horror movie.  the lead character could not have been better cast; Hugh Grant portrays such a charming and unassuming figure, you wonder if you should actually trust him.  This movie, while interesting, raised a lot of questions for us--including who really deserved to die?  Paired with a Panties Unleashed cocktail.

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter Commentary

Get in, loser, we're going...to the mall and never leaving because there is a zombie apocalypse going and and we have all our basic needs met is what the main characters of 2004 Dawn of the Dead SHOULD HAVE said.  Instead, they come up with a subpar plan and chaos ensued.  This movie pulls no punches and is quick to get to the action.  Listen up as we discuss Ving Rhames (can't get enough of him), zombie babies, and the fine line between helping obviously dead people and keeping others alive.  Paired with a Lake Michigan Froth.

Dawn of the Dead

Listen, we are not saying this is a cinematic masterpiece.  One of us doesn't even think this is an entertaining movie.  But 2014's Zombeavers has elements that you will never see coming, and the terrible characters will have you cheering for those zombie beavers (even though the special effects may leave a bit to be desired).  This movie is fully self aware and creats the most unlikely unbeatable villain in beavers.  Get ready for two wild cameos and some quotes that will live rent free in your brain for weeks!  Paired with a Split Beaver cocktail.
