Katharine pilots us thru a melodic trek across the vibrant constellations.

Jumping from star to star consumes a lot of time. There is always parts that can be double or triple checked on a spaceship to make sure things are in their optimal working condition. Preventative maintenance can help make one more confident that issues will not happen. Still, something can go wrong with anomalies in space. Just recently, the ships communication system has been in and out of commission. Finding a place to land so the low-gain antennas can be worked on wasn't hard. Once landed, the power subsystem was turned down and then set to offline. The landscape immediately reverted itself to a very old but familiar place. Cat is hissing at the T-Rex off in the distance.

Katharine is here to make things more enjoyable while things get reset. The hypnotic beats can certainly lift your spirits. The bleeps and buzzes definitely get your attention. Other times, the melodies make you smile and sway. There are times when it sounds like someone is working in a docking bay with tools. The combination of them being blended, excites all the senses. Thankfully, she is playing analog with vinyl since everything is off network currently...

ALESSANDRO Crimi is undoubtedly our kind of man. Because whether producing, running the imperious vinyl-only boutique label Waehlscheibe or DJing, especially DJing, the Austrian-born, Swiss-raised artist always brings that elusive deepness that can only be felt, never faked, to the [turn] table.

Having grown up with a love of, amongst others, Pink Floyd and Depeche Mode records gleaned from his parents’ collection, piano lessons eventually made way for experimentation with electronic gear and led almost inevitably to his production debut in the early noughties. Now a seasoned artist with quality releases on the likes of Italic, Open Recordings and Agnès’ Sthlmaudio Recordings to his name, Crimi the artist became Crimi the label boss too in 2012 with the launch of Waehlscheibe [check out here: https://waehlscheibe.bandcamp.com], a welcoming home to such deep-leaning names as Dubbyman, Marco Nega, P. Laoss and, of course, the man himself. 

But it is behind the decks that you feel Crimi is perhaps most at home. So we were beyond stoked when he agreed to put together number three in our podcast series, a blissful hour plus of proper, grown-up deep electronic business.

@willowmcr is a DJ and producer based in Manchester, UK. After starting out DJing in her home city, she became a resident at Nottingham club night 808 in the late 2000s, and has been behind the decks regularly ever since. While making her name as a DJ, she started producing a few years ago, and her 2015 breakthrough track Feel Me saw her hailed as one of the most interesting new house artists around. With a close connection to German techno don Move D, who featured Feel Me on his 2014 Fabriclive mix CD, Feel Me was signed to Workshop, and her signature has already been written: stripped back, sexy, minimal house music, with naughty basslines and smashed computer vocals. In her RBMA Radio Choice Mix, Willow teases out this signature style with flair, with a pointed selection of old and new house jams that creep up on you.
