Production Notes
- This track has morphed several times over its creation. It started out as a remix or retelling of a very old mod track I created in FastTracker2 called 'dead flies', and then morphed in to an experiment in using a reference track as a guide for a track's arrangement. This reference / arrangement experiment worked well, and I quickly had a nicely progressing track, but after a couple of minutes it lead to a dead end. With no coherent 'story' to the track it felt like a jumbled mess of disperate ideas. I added more vocal loops which were again, taken from all over the planet. Persian chants, Tibetan throat singing, south American tribespeople murmerings, and anything else. Separately it sounded cool, but it wasn't until stumbling on the Goa Gil interview that it fell in to place. "24 hours in the forest, everywhere in the world". Now let's start throwing little clips away and trimming the track down... I even threw away the reference track as it had served its purpose. Up until the last editing session the opening vocal hit was different, and the main bass samples still needed an overhaul.
