Along with the new releases, there are some older ones, usually from the same companies. Few of them are so good that I feel mentally obliged to present them since it is inconceivable to me how they were lost in the oblivion of music lovers. Lust is an American Heavy Rock band of the 70's that was never particularly heard and was lost in the unknown. The band was formed by guitarist Austin M. Carrino and singer Keith Deen (R.I.P.). Does the name mean anything to you? Yes, he is none other than the Holy Terror singer. They also had drummer Liam Jason (Warrior, Rhinobucket) in their ranks. Melodic hard rock / heavy metal, one of the best, really. Fortunately, after a lot of running and work, we find it on a cd by DYAMOND ROXX / PROGAOR in a sound remaster by Janne Stark. The cd contains 7 songs from the period 1976-1980 and in addition one more from the solo project that was recorded in 1982. All this in a 12 page booklet with photos, lyrics and comments by Austin himself.

The most important element of this collection is its feeling. Immediate, unpretentious, honest. You feel every melody in your skin. Despite the mediocre production, the instruments stand out and have their own liveliness each. Very enjoyable bass that overwhelms you with its power. Keith's voice is so expressive and so young. Unbelievable and yet true that he is the same guy who screams at Holy Terror. Apocalyptic melodies on the guitar comfort the voice and vice versa. "Roll Away" is harder rock oriented, reminiscent of U.F.O. and not just from refrain. The legacy of such guitar harmonies will be forever. Think that you will come in first contact 40 years later and you will be shocked by their power. You will sing "Queen Of Diamonds" with Keith, with the great rhythm that accompanies it. The first four songs are all compositions from 1980. Going to 1977's "Grains Of Sand", the sound softens more, the volume decreases but the song itself is just amazing. Seventila, with awesome orchestration, emotion and point of view. Sound bomb from guitars played by a seven-finger guitarist. We are not talking about curtain sounds. This cd will play dozens of times on your cd player if you like the corresponding sound. A few songs, short duration and shot dose for daily use. If you do not have adolescence, naivety and less stressful songs like Lust, I do not know what to say. '' Dog Food '' (1976) has a more southern texture, you know, South, country etc. The collection closes with a newer song (1982) '' I Need Your Love '', I imagine with another singer but also more light, simple and catchy.

Marc Campbell was the lead singer and songwriter of The Nails. Formed in Boulder, Colorado in 1976 (as The Ravers) they were the first punk band in the Rocky Mountain region. They moved to New York City and changed their name to The Nails. They played all the usual joints:  CBGB, Max's, Hurrah's, The Peppermint Lounge...

The Nails released two highly acclaimed records, "Mood Swing" (1984) followed by "Dangerous Dreams" (1985). Both on RCA. "Mood Swing" contained the cult hit "88 Lines About 44 Women".

"Tantric Machine" is Marc Campbell's first solo album, a collaboration with multi-instrumentalist and producer Hugh Pool.
