Hamburg duo Hauke Freer and Matthias Relling aka Session Victim return to Delusions of Grandeur with their second long player, 'See You When You Get There'.

Right from the start it's clear Session Victim's way with a groove hasn't diminished in the two years since their debut album, 2012's 'The Haunted House of House'. ‘Do It Now’ and ‘Hey Stranger’ open the record with the duo's trademark blend of subtle sampling, gloriously swinging beats and the same off-kilter sensibility that consistently raises them above their modern disco peers.

The new album marks a conscious progression in Freer & Relling's approach, evolving the sample-based production style that's won them plenty of fans since their emergence in 2008. Whereas their debut album was recorded in the duo's bedrooms, the new LP instead sees them embracing a full studio set-up, split between their own Hamburg-based studio and the fully-kitted out Room G studio in San Francisco.

Despite being situated in one of the USA's most beautiful locations, the duo found little time for anything outside the work at hand. Time not spent in the studio saw them raiding the two-dollar bins of Amoeba Music for interesting records to sample. "Having access to a fully-equipped studio was like hitting the jackpot. It was a bit intimidating too - we thought 'if we cannot write the LP here, it’s not in us'. A few days later we already forgot about this and were immersed in jamming and exploring," says Hauke. "We had access to all sorts of 80s drum machines, synths and fender rhodes of course that added another layer to the whole thing."

The resulting LP is as expected one that suits a variety of moods within SV's idosyncratic range - from the dancefloor thrills of the piano-led Never Forget, the classic disco percussion & filtered guitar licks of Stick Together and the heads down groove of The Most Beautiful Divorce Ever to the more laid back jazz tempos of Hyuwee and Crystal Maze, while the record also has a place for the more oddball moments of Under Your Spell and Eos Place. ‘See You When You Get There' finds Session Victim at their best yet, with an accomplished album that will likely emerge as one of 2014's strongest in its field.

Ara Koufax from Melbourne, Australia, make music that oscillates among experiments in house, techno and noise - material that steers clear of easy categorization while remaining thoroughly dancefloor friendly. The pair returns with a two-track single for Cascine's singles label, CSCN, that embodies this approach. "Kissy Fits," the single's namesake, builds at 120 BPMs along a collage of looping vocal samples, INTERPOL sirens and shuffling percussion parts. Whereas "Infrared," the B side, underlies a squelching synth with melodic chord progressions to create a pensive atmosphere that drives the listener deep into the nighttime.

A new star slowly rises out of Stockholm scene. Born and raised in Pula, Croatia, the DJ and producer Petar Šuškić recently moved to Stockholm. 

Our Story is his debut on the Reworck label, a project borne out of sentiment for deep electronic music which tell stories via the acute emotion penetrating his creations.

Having made his mark with a smattering of releases during 2015, the story of this talented Croatian culminates with stellar single 'Our Story' and is aptly accompanied by a remix from Petar Dundov, an artist from which Bonaca garnered inspiration during his formative years in the studio.

Bonaca's progressive foundations don't go unnoticed with a series of arps and evolving soundscapes dominating the original piece, concepts which Dundov develops further while bolstering and reimagining the direction of travel for both bass and percussive elements.

Freerange welcomes Italian producer/DJ/label boss Enzo Elia for his debut on the label entitled The Lost Guitar Tapes.  Enzo is someone who has been releasing consistently great music for many years, although often hidden behind a myriad of pseudonyms and underground imprints. For starters he’s responsible for a mysterious yet established and very excellent edits label as well as being a member of Balearic Gabba Sound System alongside Bjorn Torske amongst others.  Following the philosophy of this collective, Enzo is also producing lovingly and respectfully created re-edits of long lost techno and house tracks as well as many new tunes for influential labels including Golf Channel and Compost.

But for now we turn to The Lost Guitar Tapes and specifically the original mix of Drifting which opens up the release with a brilliant tension builder.  A rolling bassline, crisp minimal drums and a subtly Middle Eastern-influenced melodic line give just a hint of mysticism to this jewel of a track.

For the remix we have none other than the Tel Aviv via Berlin producer
Moscoman, fresh from his brilliant debut LP on ESP Institute and releases on Eskimo and his own Disco Halal label.  Moscoman’s organic, percussion-heavy sound and Middle Eastern roots make him the perfect choice to take on Drifting and we couldn’t have wished for a better outcome.  He manages to inject his own identity to the track with newly recorded live guitar and bass parts and taking in elements of techno, new wave and house, he’s created a sublime piece of dancefloor drama.

Finally we have an alternate Dub version which lays down a firmer four on the floor, extra percussion and dubby stabs for a more driving atmospheric club tool.

The mysterious Toronto based Las Von makes his debut appearance with Aethereal's 68th release featuring two edits of title track 'Trappist' and trance gem 'Disarray' in this provocative offering.

Beginning with the 'Intro Mix', Las Von creates a lavish soundscape that magically builds from a retro laden collage of oscillating synthesizer sounds and sequenced bells to a bright and compelling percussive explosion... if only to drift off for just a bit to set the stage for a hefty kick drum to tackle the bassline in an intertwining commencement of progressive glory. The playful tussle between the kick and bass are catapulted into overdrive as the entire piece melds together as swift arpeggiated leads and sultry pads are folded into the mix, all the while the inviting lure of the original theme from the beginning rises to full effect, thus transporting this stalwart and emotional tune to its stoic ending.

The 'Original Mix' starts with the familiar nostalgic mood of the 'Intro Mix', employing the crooning vintage synth parts and the ethereal lead motifs which frolic about in the background. And as expected, a staunch rhythm quickly engages, dropping the foundation for the delightfully haunting pads, ghostly leads, and searing bassline to take flight. Happily, this mix progresses intelligently, revealing an energetic passion of sonic achievement, skillfully luring the listener into an introspective and deep listening experience. 

Finally, 'Disarray' promptly stomps into the sonic landscape as an energetic exercise of enthralling beats, stabbing bass and captivating sequences that coalesce into a melodic powerhouse of a tune. Las Von's driving bassline is showcased in the finale as the rhythm subtly trails off leaving only the bass and key synth elements to close the track out in a fulfilling finish.

Coming in straight from Hamburg for his debut on Upon.You Records is the notorious Doctor Dru who has built up a massive reputation and following as a part of the hanseatic JEUDI Records camp throughout the past years in which he played a role both as a producer and resident DJ at the camps parties of the same name.With the title track "Corner Ball" we see Doctor Dru kicking some serious ass on the dancefloor, bringing on a techy intro sequence and a rapid build-up for all fans of ever busy midrange synth wildpitch efforts whilst on point filter excess, metallic percussion bits and clean, yet screaming sci-fi tones provide extra fuel for full-on devastation. "Dondo", the second tune on this single, focuses on a still techy, yet more hypnotic vibe for the wee hours, introducing ultimate darkness in terms of massive bass waves and eerie atmospheres accompanied by layers upon layers of cut up vocal bits and a subtle overall presence of ghostly, mysterious, multi-dimensional entities feeding of the energies provided by a heaving dancefloor.

Mintz is an upcoming israeli duo formed two years ago by Eden and Rami. Both are in love with analog gear, harmonic techno, house & electronica music and already released their first album 'Pulse of our Planet‘ and several releases which showcases their immense creativity and passion to contribute with their music in this world.
They gave ‘Permission‘ a new spin to a lighter groove perfectly suiting the coming summer season.
The melodies seem to flow like bees through trees from blossom to blossom in a fresh breeze of sun warmed air. According to Mintz the story for this remix started with 1979´s first ep on Klangwelt.
His famous track 'Sail' made them realize it was just a matter of time till they would cooperate and when they listened to 'Permission' for the first time, it struck their heads instantly.
"Something in the melody that repeats over and over and creates an endless loop convinced us to make this remix." From the beginning the vision for this remix was clear as they immediately fell in love with Johnny's parts and this is what you can hear when you listen to their interpretation.

I apologise for making a 13 minute track with only 3 different sounds!

It's a bit of a reaction to our constant information bombardment and instant gratification music - you just need to step back from everything for a while and let it wash over for this one to work.

The whole thing is hinged on a sequence of 4 notes playing at different rates forwards and in reverse using Alexander Randon's Fugue Machine. It's a simple pattern but it grabbed me and made me want to strip the track back to the minimum possible number of elements to focus on the pattern.

I think we pick up on the fact that there's an interesting pattern hiding in there in the simplicity. The fast riff that opens up is a classic Juno 6 sound too, which also made me want to put it out there unadulterated. I gave in eventually and added one percussive element and some extra chord layers, but you have to wait about 8 minutes for that.

It's certainly not for everyone, but I hope it works for you...it gets pretty intense too btw, but I guess you've had that before from me.

A truly Unique Collabo between the mexican Vazik, Boho and Paul Feris is coming together on the upcoming Jannowitz release.
Paul Feris, who has long been part of JAW's inventory, teamed up with Boho in the studio for starting. But they weren't really happy with the product itself so they've been asking Vazik for some feedback, who directly told them, that this ep is something special and asked them both for finishing the Single.
Some dirty synths sounds have been added, and the clap sound was changed into something more energetic.
This track has been finished vice versa, so Matthias and Lars took the chance to release this magical thing as their Debut Single on Jannowitz Rec.
Since the BOHO's have a very diversified music taste and international influence, the duo has quickly emerged from a starting project, to a full cooperations Project, with more jaw label buddies involved as remixer on an international level. Kalil & Jessica Tribst are the Brazilian part & the legendary Kaiser Souzai guys from Germany take over the techno part which is slightly rougher than the original.
A track that sounds different 4 times was the goal, and is presented in high quality with this uber EP. A symbiosis that can certainly be seen. In addition, we celebrate Jessica Tribst's first official remix, as she loved to be on the Jannowitz family with her love for the German imprint.
Like our Jannowitz recipe, remixes and original are done for peaktime, afterhours and open airs.

Great Stuff proudly presents volume twelve of its “To The Underground” series. The series features solely exclusive tracks. Hand picked with only the dance floor in mind. Tracks that will work crowds and elevate dj sets. 

To The Underground Vol. 12 begins with Wolf Story’s “Massai“. A reverberating, sleek tech-house creature! It features nippy low frequencies, which were built to take you deeper. The crisp breakdowns and warm percussion layers total the track nicely.

Next up is AndReew’s “Soul Of Party”. This cutting edge compositions is made up of just the right components: a mesmerising bassline, energetic hats and engaging outer worldly soundscapes.  

Lexlay keeps the ball rolling with his dry, stomping & seductive sounds. Deep female vocal chunks, trippy break downs and a sub-heavy tech-house groove make “Soon” so irresistible. 

The hallmark of Jamie L Ward’s “I Am Free” is its warm, wiggling house groove and funk-filled bassline that support the adorable old school chords in the most stylish way. 

Heavy rhythms flow alongside morphing male vocals, while snappy percussion layers lift the energy to new heights. Groove Phenomenon & Salomon B.’s “Este Ritmo” is pure dancefloor dynamite.

Gili & Craig are closing out this high quality collection of magnificent electronic music. Their electric “Lollyhood” track is all about the cocooning, rumbling techno groove. Howling sounds accompanied by sci-fi chords make this track a tasty late night treat.

When I was selecting tracks for my essential mix Clint send me his newest productions. I immediatly fell in love with the tracks and included one in my mix and signed the two tracks for Terminal M. The 18th release on microCastle sees a special collaboration between two of electronic music's most innovative artists.  Named by Beatport as one of their Progressive House Artists of 2009, Henri Hurtig – otherwise known as Cid Inc teams up with Hungary's Lank (Peter Golyan) for the Our Benefactors EP. Included on the package are 2 fresh originals with remixes from two of this year's most sought after producers King Unique and Luis Junior. The Our Benefactors original mix is a rough-edged melodic house track with a very sinister and  hypnotic brain teasing lead.  A rumbling bottom end and an unparalleled cool vibe really create that dynamic big room feel. Certainly one of Henri and Peter's most unique productions to date.  Matt Thomas otherwise known as King Unique provides the Our Benefactors remix. Formed in 2001 the King Unique production touch has appeared on more than fifty remixes  and has  yielded some of the biggest dance floor bombs known to man, most notably:  Dirty Vegas’ 'Walk Into The Sun',  Underworld's 'Two Months Off' and The Killers 'Somebody Told Me'.  Following fine outings on Bedrock and Flow King Unique has delivered a big room sonic masterpiece for his Our Benefactors remix here.  The spirit of the main theme is maintained and accentuated with some trippy, swirling electronics; however it is the very unique, awe-inspiring organs  that Matt has added that should guarantee some amazing dancefloor moments over the coming months. The second original on the package is Coronal Mass,  a fat, techier progressive house track with extremely dark and ominous overtones. As the piece grows epic sheets of spine tingling synths are unleashed as anticipation builds during the breakdown all for what results in a simply amazing payoff.  The Coronal Mass remix is supplied by Luis Junior who is Spanish born and based in Madrid, he is one of the fasted rising stars of electronic music at the moment. His productions are sought after and championed by industry heavy weights John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren.  His debut EP “Colache” released earlier this year on Bedrock gained a lot of attention industry wide and more recently  the massive “BG" also for Bedrock was one of the most unique techno productions thus far this year. For his Coronal Mass remix Luis has stripped the track right down and delivered a futuristic slice of world class hypnotic techno.  The hypno synth sits perfectly under a  very accessible club friendly framework and  the signature Luis Junior production quality is unrivalled here with its pristine overall sound and rock solid titanium beats.  A killer remix from Luis which is already being played by John Digweed.&#13;
