Ultramajic have opened a new portal to their roster, welcoming Lando in with the "Stunts" EP. Fresh off the release of his remix of Dorisburg’s "Dimension Sculpture" via his own label Myth Music, Lando offers up five slick hypnotic tracks, with pulsing basslines that are right at home in the Ultramajic universe.

2015 will see German techno mainstay Stephan Bodzin ready to unleash his next full-length musical vision on the world. Entitled “Powers of Ten”, the 10-track album will land in June 2015 on his own Herzblut Recordings and provides another great insight into the melodically rich muscle mind of this modern great.
Says Stephan Bodzin of the LP: “Powers of Ten has been with me all my life and is named after a book that has been my background hiss, its confusing truth is my only real faith and its infinity shows me its finiteness. The album is about harmonies, melodies, rhythms. It is an homage to Bob Moog, full of techno beats and sounds and space and party and ecstasy and dancing and listening, and crying and feeling. It is a journey, a philosophy of life, a view of the world, a vague perception. It is my wife, my children, my family, my friends, my passion, my enemy, my greatest fulfillment, my fear, my deepest peace, my power, all my love.”
As such, this album is hugely personal and is filled with cerebral messages and well thought out concepts. All this shines through and makes it an all the more engaging listen from start to finish. Kicking off with the spine tingling chords and louche beats of ‘Singularity’ cuts like ‘Lila’ then continue to confirm that Stephan Bodzin has a classical understanding of melody that is way beyond your average.
‘Blue Giant’, ‘Wir’ and ‘Ix’ all manage to be uplifting and thoughtful at the same time as driven and groovy, whilst ‘Birth’ comes on with a hymnal high note, long tailed pads and subtly shifting beats. The ghostly grooves of ‘Zulu’ mark a majestic mid point to the album, which then continues to seduce with spiritual synths and more beautiful melodies on cuts like ‘Odyssee’ as well as the album’s standout title track.
Unfolding coherently and in soothing fashion, this album once again proves that few producers in the modern world have a knack for melody and an ear for sonic ingenuity quite like Stephan Bodzin.

2015 saw Damian Lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in The Ancient Moons, producing a full length album ‘Message From The Other Side’ with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. They went on to support Roisin Murphy on tour, gain acclaim from the likes of Dazed & Confused and Lazarus became the final coverstar of the year in the UK”s Mixmag magazine.

Now the tracks from ‘The Other Side’ have been reinterpreted by an assortment of stars, from techno stalwarts Juan Atkins & Kimyon Huggins, to German experimental talent Kölsch, and Acid Pauli’s sprawling fusion of weirdness. The original material is ploughed in new and surprising directions by Black Butter’s own Gorgon City and Mehmet Asian, resident at Berlin’s infamous Wilde Renate club.

Talent from Lazarus’ label Crosstown Rebels, including Francesca Lombardo, DrumTalk and Israeli trio Red Axes also produce their own visions for the music, all of which retain the mysticism of the original with added dancefloor appeal. The final four tracks revisit some of the biggest moments from the Moons to date, as the album revisits interpretations from Jamie Jones, Dixon, Serge Devant and &Me.

Co-produced by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine), The Ancient Moons was always a unique project, which has now been stretched to include the flavours of some of the most exciting artists shaping the musical landscape right now.

Recorded in Mexico, LA and London, ‘The Other Side’ features instrumentalists from Mozambique, Guinea, Pakistan, Egypt, America and even Mexico’s own Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.

SoHaSo’s saga continues with a sound selection of singlets. Singular recordings from separate artists, bound together through Nuno Dos Santos’ spellbinding powers of creation and combination. The results are SOMEWHERE I and II: two compilations to be released digitally this summer, starting right here with part 1.	

Turning towards their inner selves, their deepest thoughts, their most hidden feelings, it seems that every single artist that was invited for SOMEWHERE I isn’t just delivering a track, no, they’re sharing a piece of themselves, showing a part that’s rarely seen or heard. From the ever evolving grooves of Love Over Entropy to the almost indie-electronica vibe of Polynation. From Sigward’s Moonfaced Oracle, chanting towards the stars, to Nuno dos Santos’ own Wibaut127, made as a last tribute to that one legendary club in Amsterdam that once was but now is no more. This and much more stories can be found when listening between the lines of every track.

The SOMEWHERE series feels like a sound based confessional. Telling unheard stories, exposing unseen surfaces and unheard sounds. A compilation to cherish, and one of which there’s another part on it’s way. SOMEWHERE II will be released later this summer, with both parts being made available on CD in very limited quantities.

An intriguing combination of names known and unknown, it’s once again testament that there’s so much happening, somewhere, all the time. And remember: this is only the first part.

When you have been running a label as long as we have, it occasionally happens that you have releases up the pipeline which take ages to be released. The remix EP for Patrick Chardronnet’s 2013 hit "All I Got“ is such a case. Already planned for more than a year ago, it has taken this long to be ready for release. But, as good things sometimes simply need time, we think it was well worth the wait and are now more than happy with the result: Four remixes in total, three for "All I Got“ and one for "Random Beauty“, make the release complete, now.

We kick off with the Audiofy Hook Remix, a characteristic interpretation for the super simpatico and world-traveling DJ-duo and long-time friends of Connaisseur. Super tripping, massively grooving and big in love of details. Thank you boys!

Next up is man of the moment Musumeci. His take on "All I Got“ is a super catchy pearl in his own distinctive arp-driven style with touching and tender melodies. A tune for your heart and soul which we are sure will be a regular in many sets in the next months.
The third and last version of "All I Got“ is by German rising star Schlepp Geist, who just had a strong open air track with "Tura“ on our summer V.A. “BBQ Techno 5”. His interpretation, screaming "RAVE ALERT", will destroy dance foors. Massive alarm sounds and a demanding groove make this tune a peaktime guarantor.

The fourth and last track is a remix for "Random Beauty“, the timeless b-side of the original release, which we consider one of the best tracks Patrick Chardronnet has ever have made. Responsible for the remix here is Anthony Middleton, one half of Audiofy and the amazing US act Dance Spirit, well known for their releases on Audiofy’s sublime Supernature label.Their remix is a pure trip taking you far away. Their sensitive dealing with the parts shows their big respect towards the original work. A special track for a special moment.

The great mantra dedicated to Shiva as Mrityunjaya is found in the Rig Veda.  It is called the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra, the Great Death-Conquering mantra. It is a mantra that has many names and forms. It is called the Rudra mantra, referring to the furious aspect of Shiva; the Tryambakam mantra, alluding to Shiva's three eyes; and its is sometimes known as the Mrita-Sanjivini mantra because it is a component of the "life-restoring" practice given to the primordial sage Shukra after he had completed an exhausting period of austerity. The Maha Mrityunjaya mantra is hailed by the sages as the heart of the Veda. Along with the Gayatri mantra it holds the highest place among the many mantras used for contemplation and meditation.
