I AM A FOOL LOVING YOU (Mastering Paploviante)

This is the 3rd song Bitzone, Frawstakwa, and I have worked on together for my CKP page. I wanted this latest track to continue with the electronic hip hop vibe we had established with our previous two tracks.  Bitzone dug into his rich production archive and found a beat 10 years deep that met the criteria. This time I sent the track first to Frawstakwa to switch things up, since the last two songs I had started off. Frawstakwa came up with these deep metaphysical verse and chorus lyrics and I added a literal interpretation with my verse that I hoped would complement his meaning while keeping in theme with the previous two tracks. Bitzone then worked his magic and transformed the track into an electronic hip hop rock fusion. And then for a final surprise, he asked Joerxworx to join in with some futuristic EWI. In the end, I like that this track is different from It Ain’t Looking Good and Trendsetting and I think it points at a possible new direction for the next track we all work on together.

This is an older track that I forgot but while doing some kind of spring cleaning….so to speak in my external hard drives, came across this one. I asked Arkestar if he would consider adding his awesome vocals to it and he said yes. Very happy about that as I really love his voice and his work.
Anyway, this is about moving on in life, letting the past, your old life behind, moving towards something new, something better. I thought this was the perfect time to post this track, as in today’s uncertainty, not really knowing what’s going on, I’d rather choose optimism as anything is possible. When I was in college I got a job as a projectionist at a local movie theater. The films came in on reels and I had to take all those reels and splice them onto a huge spool, then feed them into the projectors. I remember that on Wednesday nights I had to de-splice the movies that were showing and put them back into the reels and send them along to the next theater...It usually took until about 2 or 3 in the morning. I totally remember showing 'The Shining' for a couple weeks and thinking I was seeing things in the dark on those Wednesday nights...alone...in that fucking place.

I spent two years making Punto Ártica album as a whole, and I mostly played my mom’s Spanish guitar in the spare time. This theme and chords got shape with time, without any plan, in some different variations I’ve tried to remember and craft here.

Even a 7/4 vocal section had come up. In the spirit of this new profile, I asked Codi (https://soundcloud.com/noisealter) to adapt my translation of a poem I wrote when my age was about 1/3 than now (see below), and he also sung it with the passion and delivery I was looking for !!

Track shows a very delicate theme and a quite hard-riffed part, both alternating and finally flowing up to an endless symphonic dream (words are half a poem I wrote previously (not these, but lyrics below)).

Notes: 
The leading track off the debut album for The Welcome Parade. An indie effort through and through with a group of people who wanted to make some noise.  

This was the last song in for the album and it show cases what 8 months of working together has changed.  Jay sent this out, with a description of his vision.  I think both Thom and I were floored and a bit dazed, as we tried to get our footing on this beast. 

I think this is the first time Jay uniformly received push back from both of us.  The things he wanted changed, simply refused. He had nailed such a strong performance in every spot he occupied.  

We had our first all hands meeting yesterday as a band and everyone got a few laughs out of this piece.  Jay's story about his voice being hoarse 2 days after recording this.  Thom's story "I am not sure I want to play on this".  Jeff's refusing to do backing vocals "How the f**k do I do better than what you already did, no absolutely not".

A fellowship of music lovers with a penchant for something honest out of our work.  I hope you will join me in supporting The Welcome Parade(@thewelcomeparade).
