Soul-Fi is the culmination of soul, the greats who have inspired and influenced Ballad, Ballad's own modern stylings, unique flair, and his timeless tone, imbued with a touch of his cultural roots. On Vol. 1, Ballad gives his listeners a taste of his depth and versatility with songs like “Orange” and “Lemonade”, songs that have influenced the resurgence of “Hairy Coochie Music”. A term that was popularized when "Orange" went viral and black Twitter dubbed that the genre of his music, in the midst of an "R&B is dead" conversation.
