Since moving to Berlin in 2014, UK-born DJ and producer Anil Chawla, aka Amotik, has carved out a distinct place in modern techno. Known for his versatile, layered closing sets that emphasise atmospheric storytelling through tension and release, he has built a reputation as a dynamic figure both in the DJ booth and the studio.

In recent years, Amotik has expanded his artistic scope. He launched AMTK+, a sub-label providing a platform for like-minded artists with a shared musical vision. He also collaborated with Answer Code Request on a bass-heavy record for Delsin, giving both artists space to explore their UK and breaks roots. Most recently, he showcased a lighter side with select house sets at Panorama Bar in Berlin, Merge in New York, and Radion in Amsterdam. His touring schedule has taken him to iconic venues such as Berghain, Fold, De School, and Khidi, while he maintains residencies at the revered Goethebunker in Essen and Pax-Romana in Amsterdam.

Alongside notable releases on labels like 47, BPitch, and Figure, Amotik's critically acclaimed albums Vistār and Patanjali have further cemented his reputation as a visionary producer, earning praise from Mixmag and Groove Magazine. 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of his self-titled imprint - not just a milestone, but a testament to perseverance, proving that consistency, dedication, and staying true to one’s sound can shape a lasting career in an ever-evolving scene.

ATTENTION is a project I kept to myself for a year, experimenting with genres and influences and a community of fellow music lovers. ATTENTION symbolizes the importance of having a great time playing with the people you play for. This stems from the incredible trip I took into music, clubbing, travelling and sharing inspirations with other melowomen and men.

I started getting my hands on some producing gear in 2002 at the age of 14 and produced Rap instrumentals for local crews with a beat up Akaï MPC2000XL, two third hand Numarks TT1650 and a Gemini UMX special edition. I just couldnt stop playing, and recording. Basically it was my calling. The passion is getting stronger with time as every true love story should.

Aside from my early obsession with scratching, bootlegging and mashing up medias, genres and atmospheres I stepped on the dancefloor as soon as I got enough cash to get a fake ID to trick past the bouncers. Then there was no turning back.

Since 2006 Ive been performing in both clubs, festivals (Venezia More Festival) and free parties, turning barns, fields, grocery stores, the street I lived on and, yes, a plane into ephemeral venues, just because the vibe felt right. I also featured in a documentary titled Sur les toits de Paris on national television about the emerging rooftop clubbing scene in the city of lights (46).

I played mostly in France under the alias Les Radis Sanglants where we scored residences at Le Concorde Atlantique,Le Panic Room,La Belle Epoque and of course Le Badaboum Paris. I also toured in Norway, SE Asia, England, Morocco and Italy both solo and as a duo act alongside NU, ACID PAULI, SYNAPSON, DIMITRI FROM PARIS, PACHANGA BOYS, DJ LE ROI, RODRIGUEZ JR, AGORIA, ÂME, SASCHA BRAEMER, REFOUND, MONKEY SAFARI, VIKEN ARMAN.

Although most of my equipment ended up being confiscated, lost, stolen or simply having way too many vodkamate poured onto it I just keep rebuilding a studio wherever I settle. Now focusing on Techno and Deep House as my main genres. Still, I love to dive into chilled Nu Disco or venture towards harder techno.

The crowd and the ambiance are my loyal companions when I spin the wheels of steel !

Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multi-disciplinary artist, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art.

He holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.

Cooper has enquired for over 15 years through music, collaborations, and his label Mesh, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events.  Anchored throughout is his emotive approach, connecting how ideas and forms feel, in a manner accessible to us all. 
 
As an artist synonymous with the evolution of club culture, Cooper honed his craft as a DJ with a 10 year residency at legendary Midlands techno event Firefly where he formed a foundational relationship with Architecture Social Club, with whom he still collaborates on extravagant immersive installations.

"I want to encourage the acceptance of electronic music as an art form like any other. Bringing electronic music and abstract audio-visual projects into concert halls, museums and galleries is liberating - the art world opens up doors to communicate in ways that aren’t possible elsewhere."
  
Pivoting from computational biology to electronic music might not seem like the most natural career transition, but for Cooper the commonalities are obvious:
 
"In both fields, you're in a sense, free. Free from the limits of living systems, free from the limits of corporeal sound. The only constraints are in your mind."
