Emerging East London producer Jett first hit the scene with his debut release on Jaymo & Andy George’s Moda Black imprint, with ‘I Know I Want You’. Entering straight in to the Beatport House chart, Jett soon caught the attention from respected DJs across the scene.

Drawing influences from many aspects of House, Techno & Garage, Jett’s sound is incumbent but not exclusive to these styles. His focus is aimed at the dancefloor. Hooky leads, looping vocals and a healthy abundance of low end are defining features of his signature sound.

Jett continued to build his name with releases on Get Twisted Records, Fat! Records, Cr2 and Armada Deep, showcasing his deft and vivid approach to UK House.

‘The Secret Life Of Us’ features band members who regularly play live around the world headed by singers Pete Simpson and Donna Gardier. The nucleus of Tony Remy (guitar), Julian Crampton (bass) and Frank Tontoh (drums) are also joined by a selection of vocal stars from the soulful scene including Angela Johnson, Noelle Scaggs, Darien and Vivienne McKone. Combine this standard of musicianship with strong songs and Dave's sharp arrangements and you've got a potent brew both in the studio and on the live stage. Joey co-wrote most of the songs with Diane Charlemagne, who many will know from Goldie's ‘Inner City Life’. “Diane is super talented and writes with wit and intelligence”, says Joey. Diane also performs vocals on ‘My Way’, 'Definition of Love' and the album title track with Donna Gardier. 

“Normally I start writing a song with keys and vocals, until I'm totally happy with the melodic structure and lyrics. Once I'm sure it's up to scratch I get the band in and always make sure I record a performance - that's crucial. Kyodai (also known as Bassfort and Wagon Cookin) have been making a name for themselves since their debut EP Rumba on Freerange which gained support from Masters At Work, Jimpster,Gilles Peterson and Rainer Truby.

Last year's "Breaking" (for Mad Mats’s Local Talk label) was a big favourite here at Z HQ.

Here they turn out a super strong remix using the classic Rock Your Body vocal over some live drums, warm keys and some 80’s electro samples.
