Temple, out September 16th on Gravitas Recordings, is a perfect blend of west coast bass and ethereal melodies truly capturing the full Orenda style.  He has released amazing music for years now on Gravitas and other labels, and this recent work is his highest quality with extreme attention to detail and sound design.  It still has the Orenda world-music, ethereal vibe, but with more festival and club-ready tracks.
Orenda describes it as “A journey style EP arranged from highest to lowest energy. Focusing on a fusion of ethnic, world music rhythms and instruments, blended with dark West-Coast bass music.”

The opening track “Temple” brings this high energy to the forefront with tribal bass and captivating percussion building into a heavy drop of clean wubs and growls that pull the listener into a trance.  “Unbound” dives into beautiful background vocal chops and string plucks, again building into heavier bass and growls but not losing the original ethnic soundscape created.  “Eclipse” brings down the energy in a journey through world vocals and organic textures, dropping with deep bass and enchanting synth stabs that brings a nostalgic feel and perfect blend of his two energetic sides.  “Sanctum” builds further into this lower energy ethereal vibe while still incorporating smaller growls and unreal sound design from the previous tracks, another one that throws the listener into another world.  “Nightfall” closes the EP with perfect natural soundscapes and organic textures and foley to transport the listener into a jungle of sound, the whole track teases the heavier aspects and builds into one final drop that leaves us wanting more in a perfect way.

Josh Teed returns to Gravitas Recordings on December 2nd with an album we have been waiting years for.  This talented musician blurs the line between electronic and live music, using his strong musical talent in unique ways to create his signature sound.  With live instrumentation blended with his heavy bass production, Josh has been making waves in the scene and offering something truly special.

“Recurring Dreams was a labor of love, taking just over 2 years to finish. The vision behind it was to push the envelope in regards to the marriage of instrumentalism and melody, with experimental sound design and heavy bass. There is an immense range throughout the project, from dark and heavy tunes, to the beautiful and ethereal side, I wanted it to encompass the full range of emotion.” - Josh Teed

“Nightmare Sonata” opens up the album with beautiful violin and ethereal horns and instruments, slowly building into a heavy bass drop mirroring the instruments setting the vibe for this album journey.  “Ancient Illusions” continues this epic instrumentation while keeping the heavier tone teasing large wubs and bass, dropping into the heaviest drop of the whole album with aggressive bass and huge synths.  “Recurring Dreams”  is the title track of the album and the beginning showcases the more chill and ethereal instrumental side Josh wants to showcase, while still building into a glitchy heavy drop that flawlessly incorporates the original violin.  “Memories Of A Past Life”  opens up into a dreamy atmosphere exploring into the diverse sound he is capable of, very tastefully throwing in heavier bass elements but clearly showing a shift in energy to tease the rest of the album.  “Hypnagogia” continues this dreamy vibe with added piano from Jason Leech, slowly teasing heavier bass on the last drop but never actually dropping into it, truly captivating and almost showing the listener what he could have done with it.  “Baku” builds on this but quickly comes full force with a very unexpected drum & bass drop perfectly bringing the energy back up into a peak, ending with an epic half-time drop using the same elements.  “Elysian Forest” truly shows the diverse range of Josh Teed, and brings all the energy together for an unreal blend of downtempo and heavy dubstep with a massive final drop.  “Zones Of Reality” ends the album with beautiful instruments and rides the line between his chill and heavier sides of this release, a perfect final showcase of his sound.
