Adam Majdecki-Janicki (1985) has been writing poetry, lyrics, composing, playing, and recording since 1998. "Adam Majdecki-Janicki's discography is nothing short of impressive - recording under a number of aliases (A.J. Kaufmann, Die Rote Erde), during past 10 years he released almost 30 albums, ranging from ambient and New Age through folk to noisey krautrock. 'Bavarian Gypsy' is a collection of songs recorded over the years, mixing electronics with voice and acoustic instruments. The overall DIY quality, the live feel, the reverb and the way his voice is treated bring to mind Animal Collective or Ariel Pink, with nods towards folk outskirts of New Weird America. British and US psychedelia is also present, as both early Pink Floyd and Jefferson Airplane also seem to be an inspiration. From catchy ('Hero on the Wing') to mildly confusing ('English Nude'), 'Bavarian Gypsy' during its 28 minutes offers quite a lot of twists and turns, surprises and small wonders delivered with passion by a truly singular artist."
