1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.
 
I am a songwriter, producer, DJ and the co-owner of two amazing record labels; Wah Wah 45s and Albert's Favourites. 
I'm excited by music I find challenging and even uncomfortable in almost any genre, I like to be surprised. But above all things I deeply love soul music. Particularly from the mid to late 70s and early 80s. 

My record collection is still in its infancy. I've only been properly collecting for about 8 years on and off (dependent on funds - I have a growing collection of instruments and production equipment to nurture too). 

My vinyl is predominantly jazz, soul, Latin and disco. But there's a lot of other stuff too. 

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

It's a no-nonsense format. It's one great song (sometimes, if you're lucky, two) ready to go. They're a challenge to mix with and intense to make sets out of. But there's something concise and brilliant about them and they give you energy. 

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

There are some old favourites in here, the Little Dragon 7 is one of my all time favourites. There are some new edits (courtesy of myself - I couldn't do a mix without one of my own 7s), some wobbly disco cuts and some synth goodness. I think it's a 1 hour condensed version of how I like to play gigs. 

4) Where can people catch you / listen to your music? 

You're most likely to find me in London playing records at South London Soul Train in Peckham or any of our regular Wah Wah 45s nights.

5) Top 5 all time fave records.

I don't have a top 5. Sorry! I can never face it. I've had the feeling I should think about it once in my life and I realised I really don't. There's a question I love. If you could only have one or the other: All the music you know, or none of the music you know, which would you have? My choice is always - the music I don't know yet. I'm still discovering my favourite albums. BUT Vespertine by Bjork and either Innervisions, Talking Book or Fulfillingness' First Finale would be in there I'd imagine.

The debut mixtape from Remy-Jude. Having established a love for performing early in his life, a desire to create hip hop bloomed in the young songwriter through his university years. Upon completion of his degree, the heat of a first (semi)-free first summer in Liverpool saw the southerner develop connections and create a catalogue of music over the subsequent months. [CPS] is somewhat a narrative through love, angst, and a desire to become better; written predominantly in the first person, this is an honest approach to lyricism.
