Bristolian don Nuke is next up on Audio Entropy, an exciting British imprint based out of Welwyn Garden City. The innovative label have been setting pace as of late with a wide variety of drum & bass-themed releases from a number of both upcoming and established names, including H20 DnB, eFly, Neuroscientist, Esoro, Bordome and Trial & Error, kicking up a flurry of hard-hitting sonics in their wake.

Nuke is next up, and boy has he brought some sauce with him. The EP, comprised of 6 full-frontal, minimally-edged 174 cuts, is an absolute corker, supplying everything we could want from a project of this nature. The lead track ‘Mist’, which we’ve had the pleasure of hosting today, is up first, strutting forth in a blaze of low, scything sorcery. It dips gleefully into a number of different, core elements of the DnB spectrum, but always reverts to that raw, stripped back aesthetic you can hear reverberating effortlessly from all corners of this EP.

Elsewhere on the EP, highlights include the highly-impressive, always-progressive nuances of ‘The Short Of It’, the brilliant, bonafide rolling tones of the standout ‘Hydra’ and the pulsating, culpable grittiness of wobble-fest ‘Eyes Of Xena’. All are linked by a vital string of developing sonics, but also willing enough to push out into their own unique zones; it’s a fantastic EP to listen to in full, and one we’ll definitely keep in our rotation.
