Ümlaut is Jeff Düngfelder, a U.S. experimental sound artist based in Queens, New York. The thematic concepts distinguishing his work are absence and silence; the ineffable exchange between viewer and image; random moments of stillness within a landscape in flux. The listener sets out on a richly layered journey into the unknown. With computer-as-instrument, fragments of sounds, textures and a warm palette of noise patch together. Found acoustics will tweak the listener's inclination to reflect and discover. Manipulation of sound seamlessly juxtaposes the digital world with field recordings. The universal assimilates with the personal. Sit very quietly, and when the scenery shifts, slip between it.

I made this song with the sound of the forest rain and moving water, and I played crystal bowls with the little bit my singing.
In this july, it was always raining when I heard some goodbye.

For the past years, since late 2018, Nature Tales has served as a connecting platform and community with a focus to merge transformational culture, wellness and social sustainability through events, parties, workshops and digital/virtual media. The aim is to create an increased state of authenticity by listening not only to exterior Nature, but also to one’s own inner Nature.

The tools for achieving this state of listening and being are many, but standing as one of the strongest of them all is Music or Sound.

“Winter Meditations” is a compilation of original works from a major part of all those artists from near and far who, contributed their Music to the Nature Tales Live Set and Mix series, sharing the passion for listening to nature.

Also it marks the official beginning of Nature Tales as a label, working further to spread the reach of the artists and their unique creations, with releases available on various streaming platforms.
