Hotflush's first release of 2014 introduces a handful of new faces to label. The single, a moody house slow-burner titled "Ride With You," comes from UK duo The White Lamp, a collaboration between stalwart London producer Darren Emerson and vocalist Peter Josef. 

In addition to an extended dub by Emerson, the record also features remixes by the militantly mysterious Berlin trio ItaloJohnson and Fachwerk label boss Mike Dehnert, who inject the original with a shock of jacking minimalism. 

Italojohnson's vinyl-only version uses a gummy bassline and elastic percussion to craft a tightly-wound tool, while Dehnert strips the track  of its dense atmospherics and supplies crisp, herky-jerky drum programming.

A match made in groove heaven, both acts have long-since established a pedigree for timeless tracks. Complementing each other’s sonic sentiments like well-tailored suits, the three men initially collided in a Barcelona studio late last year. They enjoyed such a creative spree there’s a wealth of material about to come our way. And it starts here with these three seismic slabs of deep, rolling gold. Press play…

“Uniformal Processing” purrs with dub science. Once we’ve acquainted ourselves with the rolling techy drum dynamic, we’re introduced to an array of elements… A harrowed, heavily-processed vocal sample, eerie subtle synth textures and a bassline so rich in warmth and weight it initiates an organic swing that hypnotise any dancefloor within a five mile radius.

The theme of hypnosis is maintained throughout “9th Configuration”. Deeper, darker and more dramatic than the title track, it’s built on a bedrock of silky, slinky, detailed percussion and progressively builds by way of a dominant riser and sincere sub bass penetration. Through the darkness a shimmering arpeggio takes hold. Rippling and wriggling amid the elements it’s a quintessential balance of shades that twists, turns and teases throughout the eight minute adventure.

Last but definitely not least we hit “Something Happier”. Living up to its name, it departs from the heavier tech flavour of the previous two tracks and shuffles with a groovier, bass-led swing and a more uplifting set of synth colours. The drums gradually build with percussive clarity before we’re dropped into a blissfully light synth refrain which triggers an even funkier bassline twist and more infectious, hip-shaking rhythmic elements.
 
A beautiful way to conclude a beautiful EP. And just in case you need to be even happier… Let us remind you: there is more to come from this next-level partnership! We can’t wait to deliver it.

Jey Kurmis is set to be a name on the rise after the ‘Lil’ Nic French EP’ drops on Hot Creations later this month. A four pronged attack of bumping summer jams flecked with infectious vocals - lead track ‘Lil’ Nic French’ first appeared on Richy Ahmed’s massive Rinse FM compilation and rightly sets the tone with its heavy bass beat and mind bending acid line. Next up, ‘LA Shazz’ specialises in a chunky percussive groove and heavy low-end. On the flip, ‘Lover’ is an irresistible al fresco affair centred on a super groovy cowbell that builds with tight kicks and a richly textured soundbed. Closing the package, ‘Miss Raadi’ is another deadly groover laced with a dose of freakiness.

Jey Kurmis is a Leeds based producer who has been dj'ing all over the UK for almost ten years and producing for around 7 years. From his first release on Phobic Records to this artist defining EP for Hot Creations, Jey has been honing his craft across ten releases and this EP has been getting championed by some of the biggest names in the game including Heidi, Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed and wAFF.

We are extremely happy to kick off 2012 with the second release of Good Ratio Music. After capturing the hearts of audiences worldwide with "Money EP" from Chasing Kurt, it is time to warm up your senses with this emotional "One By One" by our friend Tom Ellis. A great 2012 starting for this new label runned by Carlo and Baldo.

Four evocative songs are composing by this Ep which feels pretty organic and sensitive at the same time. You might be ready to embark in such an affecting voyage built upon those ever imperfect harmonies and natural rythm. Without any apparent fear we can catalogue this Ep in the mood of an experiment close to deep House. Definitely it is coming from hundred of harmonic sounds and light melodies, everything mixed up with great sax samples and voices to go further than a dancefloor moving.

In this way we need to say big thanks to Michiel Renger & Sammy Maine for their contributions in the sax and voice respectively.

Basically it will be a pleasure to make you feel captured over the clouds after the listening.

Gamarjoba is georgian for "hello" - just in case you were wondering. 

Georgia's roaring capital Tbilisi is the homebase of Stimmhalt, our artist from Pesto 019 "Lilac", hence the salute. Meanwhile, Davit has moved his HQ to Berlin and it clearly shows in the sound of the original of Lilac. It's a deep tune, no doubt about that, but it sports a cooler atmosphere, a more minimal approach to the world of Deep House. Filtered chord stabs are sparsely thrown on a distinctive, machine-like yet groovy and shaking beat. Vocal snippets, muted jazz trumpets and shouts are the ingredients of this slightly moody tune that's surely a welcome guest to any warm up or after hour. With releases on D-Lab and Stripped, Stimmhalt is relatively new to the scene but surely one to watch out for if deep, techy House is your thing!

The first remix comes from Ekala, a female artist from Tbilisi. With three artist albums under her belt, releases on labels such as CR2, System, Celestial and Musictracx and remixes for first class artists such as Moussa Clarke and Berny, she's quite the opposite of a newcomer. Her remix features the dry, club-compatible signature sound you'd expect from her. Ekala's remix starts very toolish, just to drop in some vocals towards the middle of the tune. Shortly before a huge break, the original chord stabs are being quoted and the break is unleashed onto the audience. Pads evolve, a whole new world of the original samples opens up when all of a sudden, the dry character of the beginning returns, along with the vocals and a newly introduced paddy chord sound.

YokoO is the second remixer of the bunch, with releases on Plastic City, Affin, Plusminus and many others. The Frenchman in Sidney takes "Lilac" into a completely different direction. Plucky sequences, modulated, drone-like pads and basslines turn this rework into a straight puncher. The vocal snips are reduced, the focus is on the straight forward drum work that's pushing a "man with the red face"-like atmosphere. Club stuff!

Finally, we have Istanbul's own Sinan Kaya, delivering a more classical Deep House remix. A pumping square bass, huge stabs, shaking tops and just snippets of the original parts lead to an atmospheric break. That knocking kick drum returns and we're all back in this mood that's typical for the raving Bosphorus scene and so sought-after right now.
