Originally discovered by Infrastructure figurehead when compiling his Berghain 07 mix in May last year, Post Scriptum then went onto release his debut long player on the seminal techno label that autumn making an impact on reviewers with Resident Advisor citing it as "an album for techno fans seeking an immersive experience, which is all too rare these days". It's set him in good stead for 2016, already seeing sets at his home city of Berlin's most prolific venues Berghain as well as New York's iconic Bunker club where he's been practicing his well formed and pure take on the techno aesthetic. He's set to make his debut here in Farringdon this coming weekend, joining label heads Function and Inland alongside another of the imprint's key faces Campbell Irvine who will be performing his left field skewed forms on the Room Two stage. In addition to his upcoming set, he's also taken some time to put together this exclusive new mix to demonstrate the darkened aesthetic that first piqued Function's interest...

MOTE032 :: Planetary Assault Systems  - Deep Heet Volume 3

Planetary Assault Systems presents Deep Heet Volume 3, the third instalment of one of Luke Slater’s most seminal series to date on Mote-Evolver and carrying on the series of intergalactic exploration. 

Voltan rips the EP open. Inspired by the Mayan god of drums and the earth, Voltan is underpinned by primal desires. Huge bass drives the track forward and an angry undercarriage whirls deep below. Peppered with snares and licks of white noise, the EP starts as it means to go on.

Pygar’s futuristic sound palette is utterly hypnotic. Loops are layered insistently and despite the 4/4 structure a disorientating soundscape emerges. Filled with sounds that could just as well have been sampled from a space station as coaxed from a synthesiser, Pygar is optimised for the chaotic afterhours.

On the flip side the abstract references are abandoned in favour of the concrete. Turn erupts with syncopated rhythms, metallic rasps and mechanical warning signals. It’s the stuff of industrial nightmares.

Flat Tire is built on an angular bed of noise and interspersed with low, deep rumblings. The track fans outwards as ecstatic details are layered one upon another, ensuring that the EP closes on an enduringly hypnotic note.

Planetary Assault Systems has created four tracks that don’t play by the rules. Deep Heet Volume 3 is Luke Slater yet again innovating with four tracks that fuse together the experimental, the bold and the brutal.

MOTE033 :: SHIFTED :: RAZORS EP
Following the release of his critically acclaimed album, Crossed Paths, Shifted’s next release on Mote-Evolver is the incendiary Razors EP.
The EP opens with title track ‘Razors’ a six minute odyssey. Sounds are layered one on top of another and create a strictly cyclical structure. Shaking, rattling sounds helicopter overhead, syncopated noise unfurls in the mid-ground and underneath hypnotic beats are laid down relentlessly. It’s a dizzying combination.
Following on from this disorientation ‘Over’ ratchets up the BPM and rules it with an iron fist. This is merciless techno that’s full of intelligent details. Out of nowhere jangling blips and bleeps collide with feral bass. Shifted is no stranger to creating dance floor optimised cuts and ‘Over’ is the sound of a producer with a very finely honed craft.
The flip side begins with ‘Bloodless’ a title that suggests cold hearted, zestless deeds and a track that is ironically anything but bloodless. Rendered in twisted beats and synthesised noise there’s a cautionary tale to be heard, a warning about shiny surfaces that conceal deadening agendas.
The EP closes with the unsettlingly ‘Trouble’. It’s just as likely to have you listening reclined, with your eyes closed, as it is to leave you slightly paranoid looking over your shoulder. The palette is stripped back giving rise to psychologically charged atmospherica. ‘Trouble’ leaves you with far more questions than it answers.
Across the ‘Razors EP’ Shifted displays the range and diversity of his productions with refined electronic experiments next to broken beats and strange atmospherica aside lethal dance cuts.

Bio:

Jen Shutton aka Audio Impact born in Naples!
His passion for music began at 15 years old. Attracted by the Neapolitan and Swedish techno influences as well as exploring the variety of techno styles produced in Germany, he quickly felt that producing and djing would have been his lifestyle and lifetime choice. He graduated at 20 years old and only after completing his qualifications he decided to take his beloved hobby to another level making it his professional career. In 2010 he started cranking out his first productions, which were quickly noticed and contracted by a variety of American and European labels, that shortly after released his material. In 2011 comes in 7th place in the top 100 with Subway EP by T3R Records (ESP) and in the top 100 with Shift EP by Trackord Records (GER) of djtunes.com
He continues with passion and love in the search of new and unusual sound to fuse in his new productions, which ranges from techno to minimal techno, trying to show the quality and difference in his imprints. His motto is “TIME FOR TECHNO!” a sentence for real clubbers only! 
In the 2012 Jen lovers of synthesizers, drum maschine, and electronic music in all its subgenres,
decided to create Audio Impact to promote their new productions and founded Impact Musique the label to promote emerging talents of international techno scene.
