Making a welcome return to WaveReform after last years Effe EP, Qindek is back with the kind of distinctive dancefloor alchemy that promises to get under your skin and create an unforgettable experience. Hailing from Deventer in the Netherlands, Thomas Lauren has already issued some essential releases over the past few years for labels as respected as Wolfskuil and Sneji, and now he comes back to WaveReform with one of his most potent creations to date. 
“Odeesjan” centres around a vocal hook that echoes out into a tense, minimalist space. Whether deep in the mix or presented on its own, it’s the kind of sound that can’t fail to be noticed as it looms large in between sparse metallic percussive touches, subtle hats and a rock-solid kick. Aside from that infectious vocal, one of the truly distinctive qualities in this track is the eerie pad that lingers in the background, subtly pulsing and shaping out a tension that Qindek proves to be a master of. 
Such a unique track deserves a unique remix, and so it is as Markus Henriksson re-imagines the mystical club killer as an emotive, electro-tinged masterpiece. Henriksson is best known as one half of legendary acts Minilogue and Son Kite, as well as developing his solo project Nobody Home, and he channels this considerable experience into building a cascading sculpture of electronic refinement. It’s the perfect heart-swaying foil to the psychological intensity of the original version, making this a record of two distinct, essential halves. 
The subtleties of both versions were brought to life even further by a respectful treatment from none other than Stefan Betke, better known as Pole, who mastered the release in his ~scape studio.

Mark Henning makes a welcome return to Soma Records with the sublime Sunday Slide. A multi faceted release that definitely has something for everyone!
Title track Sunday Slide' is fantastic, deep affair. A simplistic house beat is slowly added to by well-crafted synth work that opens and flows perfectly throughout the track. 
On the flip, 'You're Digging Into Me', is a catchy house number with a baseline that is sure to stick in your head! Mark crafts another deep groove that sits perfectly beneath a funked out baseline tripped out by feedback delays. This is a perfect mid set track to get the dance floor moving!
Closing out the EP is 'Royal Flush' which straddles the boundaries between House and Techno. A bouncing yet deep groove works this track with almost discordant stabs flickering throughout give the track a very eerie, dark edge.
Mark once again shows his skills as a producer who can easily manipulate & merge sound to forge his own unique style.

Mark Henning - You're Digging Into Me (Soma 348d)

Since being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's, David has been hooked. At the age of 15 he started DJing and playing out at local underground events and raves around the Southern California area. You would've found him spinning various styles from house, acid, & techno to hardcore techno.

After years of DJing he then decided to learn to produce his own music, which landed him his first releases on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & local label Droid Recordings. Since being associated with local event production group Droid Behavior in 2003, you can find him as a resident at the infamous Interface warehouse events as well as a regular producer for Droid Recordings. Over the years his music has gained worldwide attention and onto the playlists of many big players which eventually led him to gigs at some of the worlds biggest clubs including Berghain in Berlin and Fabric in London. He is also now regularly touring all over the world in Australia, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Central & South America, all throughout Europe and the U.S.A.

In early 2011 he started a project called 'Truncate' which focuses on the deeper, and more raw side of techno. His Truncate releases have been gain support from big players such as, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is no slowing down in the near future for David as he continues to shape his own sound, putting Droid Behavior and Los Angeles on the techno map
