Egotronic – Ausflug mit Freunden

„Die einen werfen Pillen, die anderen nicht, und alle sind süchtig nach Audiolith“ (Some are popping pills, others ain’t, and everybody’s addicted to Audiolith“) 

The Anti-German-Youth flagship is back with its new album “Ausflug mit Freunden”, of course released on THE label of the moment, Audiolith. After all, the Berlin-Hamburg axis is stronger than ever, reconquering with wide shoulders a German youth that was believed to be lost to the regression, just in time to give it a strong ANTI! to take along.
Torsun, Endi and KT&F have taken the energy and impressions from an intoxicant and intoxicated year on the road and turned them into a magical mixture. With their heavy and balls-to-the-wall sound they’re creating an euphoric state of mind that will make your already dilated eyes pop out.

Their diverse musical spectrum ranges from “Tonight”, a collaboration with Danja Atari that remembers the good old C64 days, to the brutally infectious shufflestomper “Das Leben ist tödlich” which was created with the ingenious help of Saalschutz, through to “Toleranz”, a song that explicitly says no to false tolerance and a conciliating understanding towards homophobic idiots, sexists and right wing morons.
And those songs are only 3 examples of their highly creative textual, as well as stylistic mixing and dealing with their own musical directions.

Thus, one of the album’s last songs, the surprisingly organic und melodious post hardcore hymn “Ich habe Zeit”, is followed by “Mehr Bass”, a club shaking collaboration with JA!KOB from Frittenbude, directly targeted at the rave mob.
Consequently, “Ausflug mit Freunden” is definitely the most pluralistical album soundwise and very generous with collaborations, too. Apart from the aforementioned, Plemo, Phil The Gap, Yari and Captain Capa contributed to the album, as well as the three Frittenbude boys Rüde, Midmum and JA!KOB who individually cooperated on one track each.

Aside from their affinity towards excessive shows and despite of the fact that the three guys from Berlin are leaving behind a trail of rave mobs being bathed in sweat, they have neither forgotten nor repressed that Germany’s situation is still fraught with problems. As long as Egotronic exists, dumb German patriotism and ostracism will be rejected emphatically.

Right on! Keep it up! May the band’s ten year anniversary next year be followed by at least ten more years…
