Cornucopia - Neverland (Vinyl | Digital Preview)

Rowee(@roweemood) is the new project from the celebrated Italian DJ and producer Leonardo Gonnelli (@leonardogonnelli), here dropping four fresh tracks on Steve Bug's Audiomatique label. The Egypt EP sets out its game plan early with the title track - a heads down tech-house slayer that is both deep and driving, and the perfect home for the sublime vocals of Forrest. 

Kocleo’s (@kocleo) remix of Egypt is even deeper, pushing the vocals right into the front, and supplying a trippy, arpeggiated bass line for the track to hang off.

The EP also features a collaboration with fellow Italian (now based in the US) Simon Wish (@simon-wish), whose 'Art Revolution' is a deep bomb containing a spoken word vocal with a message.

'Clock' is the closing track here, and again proves the prowess of Rowee at the mixing desk - the track is a tightly constructed groover - packed full of energy and the perfect track to drop on a tiring dancefloor.

Individually both Sahar Z and Navar have both released on Guy J's infamous Lost & Found, and now they collaborate and bring us 5 gems on this fine imprint.

We are treated to several styles here on this EP, and we begin with the beautiful title track 'Morning Thoughts 4 U'. An ambient soundscape of beauty, as we are treated to dreamy pads, moving vocal samples, combined with cool production.

'Lost in Draws' is next, and we go straight to the dance-floor for this one. An air of restraint surrounds proceedings, as a crisp yet simple groove unfurls, and melodic layers are gently lowered on to its musical frame, creating depth and warmth.

Taking the energy levels up with 'Reality Check', we are treated to a rounded winner that melts some more melodic sounds, with cut up vocals, some swaggering beats and nu-disco style bass, all culminating in a smile inducing winner.

'Bloom' continues the musical smorgasbord of delights, as a haunting melancholic voyage expands. Deep and driving, yet shrouded in warmth. Uber cool.

To round things off is 'When We Face Reality'. A moody beatless emotive journey, that has almost church-like qualities, with haziness and a floaty feel,  with the warmth of the sunshine shining through the window.

Super Flu – Musik 3

A British spaceship has to do an emergency landing in Halle. Professor Quatermass and his colleagues are able to locate the two astronauts Feliks Thielemann and Mathias Schwartz who are in a state of complete shock. There is nothing left but empty spacesuits after their fellow astronauts. However, they find the residues of a jellylike substance in their suits, and at the lab they discover that the substance is Musik 3. When checking the security tapes recovered from the space ship, the conclusion is that an alien life form has snuck on board, which is responsible for the disappearance of the two crewmembers.
