Drama, Tales, Perspectives from an Edinburgh-based writer who fouters with an itchy, scratchy pen in the moments when the bewilderment caused by life clears.

Scriptography Productions was founded in 2012 to seek training, development, mentoring, commission and production opportunities for writers who are writing for performance. It seeks to provide support and collaboration with, partners; projects; artists and ideas in order to initiate high quality performance placing writing and writers at it’s core. 

Scriptography Productions has produced two script-in-hand readings; Beginnings and the Town with No Traffic Wardens with the Aberystwyth Arts Centre’s Writing for Performance group. 

In November 2012 it produced it’s first full production, a pilot project of a new full length play of To Kill a Machine by Catrin Fflur Huws, a play about war-time code breaker Alan Turing who was charged with gross indecency and sentenced to chemical castration. The play premiered at Aberystwyth Arts Centre and was also performed in the Sherman Cymru Foyer and at Swansea University as part of a science cafe event celebrating the life of Alan Turing. 

EarCandy is a audio drama project created by the Aberystwyth Arts Centre’s Writing for Performance Group featuring 12 short plays recorded in Aberystwyth Arts Centre and in locations around Aberystwyth.

The plays will be available from a web-platform and the project also includes social media interfaces of additional material including interviews with the writers and interviews with characters from the plays. 

The 12 plays written by 13 writers, include over 50 characters played by the 15 performers.

I am a multi instrumentalist and composer. I am concentrating on field recording at the current time. This is mostly of the natural world for sound art installations and for future CD releases of soundscapes.
