~Dallas resident Charlie Wort, known under the alias “Tooga” is a house and techno producer and DJ.  Tooga’s musical journey began in 2016 when he bought his first DJ controller and began playing college parties.  Influenced by the music of his hometown, Houston, Texas, he mixed hip-hop, Latin, and electronic music.  As his musical journey progressed, he began to fall in love with house and techno, which led to the Tooga project.  Since the project began, Tooga has grown as DJ and has brought grooves to nightclubs across Dallas, including the world famous Lizard Lounge.  Named after the Spanish word tortuga, you can expect to hear Latin influences in most of his sets.  2021 looks to be a big year for Tooga.  After years of sharpening his craft in the studio, he has begun to release his music and currently has multiple tracks signed to labels in both the U.S. and Europe.  His debut release “Soft Sauce” came out in February 2021 on Justin Jay’s label, Fantastic Voyage.
