Release number 9 on the Inspirational Sound label features the legendary Macka B bringing a serious message on top of a heavyweight track from Inspirational Sound and The Rootsman. 

Veteran of the British reggae scene, Macka B began his musical career in the early 1980s performing as the DJ on the legendary Wassifa Sound System. He went on to record for Fashion Records and Mad Professor’s Ariwa label. He is one of reggae’s great lyricists, crafting biting social commentary in tunes such as ‘We’ve Had Enough’ and ‘Get Rid of Maggie’. In ‘Refugees’ he turns his attention to the refugee crisis sweeping across Europe and reminds us that “You can’t blame the refugees, Them are the victims ina time like these”.

The Rootsman is a DJ and musician based in Bradford, UK. In 1985 he started selecting on local sound systems before progressing to pirate radio. In 1991 he founded the legendary ‘Dub Me Crazy’ club nights. In this period he started his label, Third Eye Music. He released numerous albums and singles often collaborating with reggae’s biggest names.

Inspirational Sound is a DJ and producer from Bradford, UK. Inspired by the legendary SubDub nights hosted by Iration Steppas in Leeds, they began to put on their own Dub Lab nights in Bradford. They played alongside leading UK acts such as Vibronics, Disciples, Alpha & Omega and Nucleus Roots. At this time they honed their skills in the studio and have supplied Iration Steppas with exclusive sound system dubplates for many years. In 2009 they started their label ‘Inspirational Sound’ and this is the 9th vinyl release.
