From the outset of his musical journey, Sydney’s louís has been an astute and discerning digger, fostering his love for vinyl through plenty of booth experience, informing both his process and output. The BeAvantGarde resident has played a pivotal role in pushing the forward-thinking boundaries of Sydney’s underground music scene. The bills on which he has appeared - both locally and on the European circuit - are certainly testament to an artist in command of his craft. Louís’ constantly developing musical sound can be defined by an openness and intrigue, both of which are heavily noted in his musical selection.

Ears Wide Open is my call for you to come wander open-heartedly into the endless realm of beats and melodies I dig, mostly – but not limited to – electronic, No boundaries or preconceptions, just all that music I wanted to share with the world, but I didn’t have the chance yet. 

I grew up listening to the radio or better said, the radio grew me musically, infected me with a visceral need to select the music I loved and tape it on cassettes. Later on, I started to buy vinyl and play them to the people at parties. Ears Wide Open triggers a new dimension of what DJing means for me. Tune in and enjoy!

Conspiracy Tape 024 - louís

A jaunty. slightly off kilter tune, with a lot of percussive elements and a solid chunky beat. A bit of 303 occasionally joins the occasion. And the bassline bounces along with a variety of noodles and quirky vibes. It's a peculiar track for sure.

Joining us on our 8th Birthday lineup with a b2b set alongside Harry McCanna on the 25th November, Jake Hodgkinson is a young DJ who we’ve had our eyes on for some time now! The Bristol based resident of Strange Frequency has recorded us a wicked mix ahead of his set at our Birthday, showcasing a deeper, darker selection than you would usually hear from him - tunes that you wouldn’t usually hear until after 6am!
