Melissa Morgado's husband, Steven, spent 249 days away from home last year. He's a firefighter for CAL FIRE and Melissa and her two small children live more than 300 miles away, across state lines in Idaho. Riverside resident Martin Sanchez has been fashioning reusable items into works of art since he was a kid in Michoacan, Mexico. But when he came to the U.S. in the '80s, his love of recycled art led him to build an entire museum of sculptures behind his restaurant, Tio's Tacos. Now people come from far and wide to see his work, like Star Wars-themed statues, or a teepee made of cement and beer bottles.
