Hailing from Vancouver, BC, comes the duo Levrige, aka Erski & JFKillah. representing Vancouver’s famed SHAHdjs crew. They have been honing their skills for years, producing their own unique brand of infectious bass music, they represent an exciting wave of talent from the region. Effortlessly combining elements of Drum & Bass, Hip Hop, Jungle and Footwork, this EP is a perfect representation of all that is right with underground dance music, bringing tough beats, massive basslines and plenty of swagger, this well-rounded package is one that will surely have Levrige’s name on the lips of Junglists worldwide.

This 4 track EP wastes no time getting into the action, and it’s namesake, “Diamonds” comes with a cheeky vocal sample and big boombap beats, which promptly drops into a massive, dark bassline and evolving synthesizers, building alongside sweeping effects. A textural and unassuming dancefloor killer. Check out the video after the jump!

Next up we have “Phantom”, a steppy hybrid homage to classic warehouse Jungle. Big “dominator” stabs, punchy 808 subs and an infectious kick pattern accompanies classic breakbeat edits. This is a catchy cut that you'll have a heard time getting out of your head,

“Stutter“ brings the intensity levels up to 12 . With a monstrous bassline over-top of an exciting kick sequence that lends itself to modern footwork, while the half-time swing and cleverly edited breakbeats and vocals, glue the composition together in unique and exhilarating ways.

Lastly, “Sting Ray” is another throwback neck-snapper, set in a modern context, fusing a big mid bass, reminiscent of golden-era Drum & Bass, with a chugging half-time beat and clever percussion stabs. Peak-hour business.

Kromestar is back with his 2nd solo album “Colourful Vibrations”. After enjoying his debut album “My Sound” so much, I was more than excited to hear what Kromestar had been moulding for the follow up. 
It’s been over 2 years from “My Sound” and it was such a joy to have another slice of quality running through my ears on content repeat once again.

The sounds Kromestar has created for the album is not dissimilar to the type of atmosphere he executed so well for “My Sound”. Loads of pads and swirls, rich basslines, flutes and well thought out samples to match.  
It does sound a lot more polished though and the production has come a long way since the debut. 

He is an absolute master of his mix down’s, each sound on the frequency spectrum has space to breath and enter your ear with ease.
Every track well rounded, offering crisp, clean production through out. 

“Colourful Vibrations” has a variety of moods within, but the main focus is Kromestar’s genius ability to create ambient, soulful Dubstep.
There are a few more banging tunes on the album as you would expect from Kromestar, but no pointless wobble what so ever!

Overall a stunning album that will go down in Kromestar history!
