Born, John August Recker - August, a.k.a. "Gus" is a singer/songwriter who lives in St. Louis, MO - Styles include: acoustic, country, blues, rock, rap, and soul.  

August grew up in a small rural town in Southeast Missouri. His parents called him "Gus", after his Great Grandpa of whom he shared the same birthday. As a child, he wrote songs and joined a rap group. As he matured, he performed country songs. After a few tries at college, he decided to move to Nashville, TN where he honed his songwriting craft. In May of 2009, after paying dues for 5 years, he signed a development deal with Curb Records as a singer/songwriter. After the release of a few singles, he was dropped from the label due to conflict of interest. 

After his release from the label, August began to spiral. He turned to drinking and became homeless. Bouncing from couch to couch, sometimes sleeping in his truck and camping in woods nearby the city. 

Discouraged, he moved back home, then to San Diego, CA where he continued to live in his truck. After playing on the streets for money, he joined an improv blues/rock group -  "I'm not from Nashville, I just got drunk there for 6 years one time." - was a quote he used often. A quote paraphrased from a song he heard at an open mic in Nashville by a songwriter who penned the lyrics "I'm not from Nashville, I just got drunk there, for 15 years one time."

August moved to St. Louis, MO in July of 2014 to be closer to his immediate family. He continues to write and plays acoustic shows around St. Louis. He is currently working on a new album set to release in December, 2015. 

Nathan Andrew Jones is a singer-songwriter based in St. Louis, Missouri. He hopes that listeners will find something that they can connect with in his songs- something that makes them think, something that brings back a memory, something that makes them smile.

The Loft Sessions is a video collective of local musicians jamming and having a good time together. Based out of downtown St. Louis, Missouri, we typically get together at a loft, however, we also have live shows at local venues in which musicians, many who are complete strangers, sing and play songs together for an entertaining evening of live music.
