This is one of my all-time greatest tracks ever.  I love what you've done with it but I lament you didn't keep the "ever higher" vibe in the 3rd quarter of the tune.  As a youngster that was always the bit that got dancefloors going crazy.

As with the previous 2 releases in the 3-part Grumptronix series, the A-side features the duo’s most sought after tracks from their back catalogue. This concluding chapter features the futuristic-funk and vocoder-laden ‘Dirty Sheets’, an enigmatic electro classic that has been become almost impossible to find for collectors. This is followed by the travelling and morphing sounds of ‘Lovefix’ – a track that is long regarded as one of the greatest electro tracks of the era. As with the rest of the series, the two reissue tracks are featured alongside 2 previously unheard, unreleased productions that were created during the same time period, at the same studio in Tampa, Florida. The first previously unreleased track is ‘Nightmoves’, a potential future classic. An immediate call to the dancefloor that provides the discerning DJ with something to break through even the most monotonous of sets. The final track of the series is ‘Cosmic Glide’, a bouncy rhythm with purple, funk-fuelled keys that are equal parts future and past. Nightmoves #3 is last in the series, but by absolutely no means least. WORMO2’s transmission is complete, over and out.

We decided to release this 18-track fundraising compilation Hősök /høːʃøk/ [eng.: Heroes] — with artists connected to the city we hold so dear — in the hope to raise money for Szent László Hospital in Budapest.

All proceeds from this compilation will go directly to Pro Infectologia Foundation for the purchase of 40 new state-of-the-art hospital beds to improve the recovery of COVID-19 patients.

Theiz - Moving Forward Into The Past EP [EPMmusic - EPM87]

EPMmusic rounds off 2020 by welcoming Theiz to the label with an EP that draws on elements of techno, electronica and electro before being rounded off by a stunning electro remix from Carl Finlow.

Theiz, real name Mathijs Schippers may be a new name to many but the Dutch born and now Belgium based producer is some 29 years deep in the scene. Having released on labels such as Eevolute (with East Island), Techno-Tourist and Ear-land Recordings in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, Mathijs began producing again in 2015 with no pressure to release – simply just for the sake of making new music. His activity as a music journalist brought him back into contact with the music industry and now freshly motivated, he returns after a 15-year break.

Drawing on influences from Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, FSOL, Plastikman, Derrick May and even Phillip Glass, Theiz’s ‘Moving Forward Into The Past’ refers to the period of time the tracks were written in. Moving back to the house his wife grew up in was, for them, a step forward into a new future, whilst simultaneously surrounded by childhood memories.

’Beauty of Machines’ is built around a recording Mathijs made with his phone of an industrial oil pump at work that sounded like a “minimal techno groove”. ‘Motor City Bliss’ expresses his love of the Detroit Sound - warm grooves, subtle melodies and pumping beats whilst the title track, ‘Moving Forward Into The Past’, has a kind of naivety to it, peppered with melancholic melodies and an ungainly beat and thus, capturing the emotions of the title perfectly.

The EP is finally complemented by Carl Finlow’s “Kraftwerk on steroids” electro remix of ‘Motor City Bliss’.
