London has a lot of soul. Unbeknown to many, there's a brimming school of young artists striding in the footprints left by the likes of Omar, Sade and other seasoned, UK neo-soul veterans. Ego Ella May is one of the most promising graduates, endorsed by Mr. "There's Nothing Like This" and strapped with a growing discography that now includes the Zero EP. Released earlier this month, it's three songs of cocoa butter smooth R&B with plenty of Ego's vocal prowess moisturised across it.

MNDSGN massages his own charm into the remix of "Tea & Sympathy" - a tale about sorry being the hardest way. Out goes the South American shuffle of the Budgie-produced original, and in comes ample amounts of Sunday morning chill courtesy of a sauntering organ melody.

For this very unique event, the featured artists will collaborate in tribute to the extraordinary career of vibraphonist Roy Ayers and his influence and contributions to contemporary urban music.

To bridge the gap, The Robert Glasper Experiment featuring Chris Dave on Drums, Derrick Hodge on Bass & Casey Benjamin on Alto/Vocoder will perform sequences between Roy Ayers selections transition them into Pete Rock productions that were created from his musical influence. The live reinterpretations and interpolations of both works serve as the conduit to understanding the harmonic relationship between the past and present.

Nanna.B: “SOLEN is a (audio-visual) journey beginning with the sun, ending with the moon. It’s about my journey as a woman and a artist, searching for a feeling of home and belonging. On this 12 track journey I'm going through various experiences and moods that touches upon joy, creativity, depression, inner strength and power, love, separation and courage. Throughout the story i keep returning to myself as the answer to that longing for home. The album is produced almost entirely by friends and family that i have met on my travels to LA and finally both Iman Omari and Anderson .Paak helped me pick out and wrap up the songs for the final outcome. Working on each song opened up new relationships for me, and the only person on the album I never met and worked with in person is Astronote. I wanted to make an album that reflected my journey as a human and artist, the growing comfortable in my own skin, the discovery of my own power and strength, which i really found by moving out of my comfort zone in Denmark. Nanna.B has opened for Anderson .Paak on his Scandinavian tour run and been featured on Beats1. She released her first self-produced installment, the LAPIS EP, in May 2018 and Nan- na.B is now ready to release her full length album, SOLEN, produced by some of LA's most sought after producers, through German label Jakarta Records. Besides being a talented song- writer, producer and musician, Nanna.B is a trained visual artist directing everything from her cover art to videos, and for SOLEN she has created a detailed universe for each song that will be printed as a limited edition zine and exhibited at her release show.

Made in Taiwan and brought to Vienna, Austria (her parents’ origin) the culture clash incepted an affinity for a wide range of music. Growing up listening to classical music and African jazz, Billie Holiday‘s sadness and beloved fusion jazz gave birth to her musical approach, while abstract hip hop damaged the rest. Her sound varies from jazzy improvisation to Nu Soul, creating her own unique style through her code-lacking manners. She has spent a lot of time traveling Asia, the States and Southern Africa. While working on her Master thesis in Biotechnology she met the producer Mez.

Mez is currently studying piano at the Vienna Jazz Conservatory and is also collaborating with artists such as Raashan Ahmad. The quality obsessed artist of Jewish descent surprises with distinguished harmonies, organic vibrant beats and innovative sound sources.

Soulful things lay ahead after their first collaboration "Obtaining". Listen for yourself. Together they have been working on "Mood Swings“ as well as other material. This project will reflect on Soia's own mood swings, from melancholic soul, stream of consciousness turned song, to feel good tunes - always going beyond the surface.
