Scandinavia is home to a remarkable collection of dj's and producers who have crafted a fun filled take on dance and club music across decades. 

As the co-founder of Karlovak Records and the label boss behind Velvet Pony, Art Alfie has been a crucial figure in the evolution of the leftfield house and techno community in both his native Stockholm and beyond. His sound has been well received and championed by a way of chance taking promoters and dj's who have warmed to his creative experimentation and playful take on the genre.

Over the years he has released numerous EP's via the likes of Toy Tonics, Howl Records and many more. He has also collaborated prominently alongside close friend Mr Tophat and the pair have released a splendid array of music through Junk Yard Connections, Bass Culture Records and beyond. 

In 2017 Art Alfie released his debut album via the acclaimed Studio Barnhus label and ever since has been experimenting with the leanings and evolution of that record since. 

We invited him to record a mix for Ransom Note and we weren't quite sure what we were going to get. That's part of the excitement Art Alfie brings to the forefront and why we are delighted to welcome him to the series.

@Yadavasoflute, the self-described instrument fumbler and radio mumbler hosts a monthly radio show ‘Expansions’ on NTS Manchester alongside fellow Manchester producer and studio collaborators @Contoursmusic. 

As co-founder of long-standing Mancunian club night So Flute, a community focussed party with an open music policy, Yadava draws upon soulful grooves and rhythms with a particular inflection towards jazz-influenced and percussive sounds. 

Contours is the project of musician, producer and DJ Tom Burford. Growing up playing drums and percussion, Contours’ productions draw heavily upon this, incorporating sounds and rhythms from Africa and Latin America coupled with those more often heard spilling out of dark sweaty basement clubs. 

These two forces combined led to a mix that explores the spaces, rhythms and textures that sit between house, jazz, afro, latin and broken-beat.

We've just announced Love International 2021 and we've got an enthralling mix to get you excited! Night Sheen Records founder Josh Caffé gives us visions of being by the Adriatic sea.

Josh Caffé is an assured part of the underground acid house and techno scene. He is someone who has nurtured a close following of fans thanks to his varied, lauded DJ sets and live PA's.  He has laid down such sets at both cosy basement parties and larger festival gatherings such as Block 9 at Glastonbury. For those that were with us in Tisno in 2019 he also joined Paranoid London on the main stage for an unforgettable set. 

It's hard not to be bouncing around wherever you are with the sultry records played by Josh in this hour-long mix. Dipping our toes wet, we get a taste of Tisno... damn it tastes good!!!
