Art is a subjective form of work. Art is necessary to heal, to teach and to express our emotional intelligence. without art we do not truly live. Apart from caring and nurturing our fellow human, or fellow animal or fellow lifeforce, art is the only reason we are here.

Taiaha is a skilled emcee that trained in the art of the mic from a young age. Added depth to the emcee is his musical heart with talents in production and instrumentation birthed from an undying passion for music.

The personality of the music shines through no matter which genre TAIAHA chooses to shine through. 

Brought up on Bob Marley, Tracey Chapman, Muddy Waters, The Beatles and Tupac you can already see how the multi genre influence has made TAIAHA the artist that he has grown into today.

Hip-Hop saved this young mans life and thus the emcee will always be first and foremost in the music but the clever melodies and poetry are the true essence to TAIAHA and is what keeps his songs ringing in your mind for weeks to come. 

TAIAHA's Live performance has continued to grow in strength, year by year, Jamaican music has always been a massive influence in his style and artists such as General Levi and Sister Nancy come to mind when looking out the energy of the live shows. From the ground up, no frills, just a huge channelling of energy.
This same energy can be summoned backed with simply a DJ but with a live band it expands in a different way with the playful renditions of the instrumentations, and if your lucky TAIAHA will don the Guitar and show why they used to call him the King of Acoustic" Hip-Hop

Kia Hei Moon began as a Folk duo under the title The Moon and The Knight made up of of Kia Hei Moon (singer/songwriter) and Gawain Davey (singer/pianist) and has since expanded to include other musicians. The set is made up of all original songs composed by Kia Hei Moon (ft. Gawain Davey) and carries the storytelling traditions of the folk and ballad genres with poetry rich lyrics and sounds. The vocals and songwriting have been likened to artists such as Joni Mitchell and Jewel, with tight harmonies and unique melody structures. Kia Hei Moon shares intimate stories of love, forgiveness and belonging:  those universal experiences of our shared humanity. Woven together by soaring vocals, luscious harmonies, piano, violin, bass and at times drums, this collaborative will take you on an emotive journey of the soul.
