'Welcome 2 The Party' is a blistering funk heater from @YourPlanetIsNext aka Arvid Wretman — the multidisciplinary artist, live performer and noisemaker from Stockholm, Sweden. Since his 2014 debut cassette under the YPIN alias, through two floor-optimised solo EPs for @StudioBarnhus, this self-proclaimed “Mr. Music” has terrorised us with the most gloriously disturbed electronic funk, all while cultivating his puzzling YPIN persona: part failed pop-star, part extraterrestrial threat.

On his first full-length release for Barnhus, emotions range from acidic romance to pure paranoia. Rave, screw, electro and chill vibes are all combined on an album that plays like an exhilarating journey through the mind of a mad genius.

This is the debut solo release from @eris-drew, featuring 3 new songs meticulously mixed for the maximum impact of the Motherbeat. From the very beginning of the emergence of Eris Drew, we at IT have been blown away by the power of her DJ sets, where she channels the psychedelic energies of rave and love — the music reflects the power of transition and of fully becoming who you are. Part of what was so exciting to us is that her sets find a new path through the sounds and ideas that inspired No Way Back and so many other wonderful things. So we asked her to create an EP for IT that would reflect these ideas, and our favorite ecstatic healer delivered! Here we find her carefully exploring the intersections of House and Breakbeat culture, a proto rave ecstasy music that exudes the Fluids of Emotion, higher consciousness and the conceptual art of the KLF.

Eris has previously released on a compilation on Needs Not For Profit, and a split EP with her equally inspiring partner Octo Octa, but this is her first full solo EP. This EP was recorded at Eris Drew’s parents’ home in Chicago and mixed in the Interdimensional Laboratories in Detroit with BMG.

The drums were electrifying and enticing, they shimmered and danced between the walls reverberating with a deep echoed pulse. It were as if some great 808 waterfall was plummeting down a cliff face into a deep blue lagoon as the stab of a flickering melody played out atop the repetitive beat. This was beautiful, melancholy music. This was the sound of another dimension in a place and state far, far away. 

KSKY is set to release a new EP on 10010, it's a well crafted collection of tracks which takes the listener and dancer through worlds unknown. This track was the highlight of the record for us, a shimmering melodic affair which is perfect for those special 2am moments.
