IT'S JUST MY JU-JU TALKIN'

The 2nd track of the 'Small Victories EP' (HHAS001) by Slug Father — an emotional piece of house music with that will have you bobbing your head to 3AM when the clubs close. A lo-fi number that will echo in your mind for quite some time, fitted for peak time as well as more relaxed circumstances.

Slug Father is the moniker of Brooklyn-based DJ/Producer Lucas Feigenbaum. His music — tinged with elements of Deep House, Disco, and Lo-Fi — toes the line between carefree bliss and poignant emotional resonance that reveals something new with each repeated play. Simply put, a Slug Father song sounds like a Katz’s Deli sandwich tastes.

Slug Father’s move to Brooklyn in January 2017 allowed him to weave his way into the borough’s bubbling electronic scene. He further honed his technique and palette while drawing inspiration from his dusty apartment and gloomy skies. A member of the Brooklyn-based .WAVCAVE collective- Slug Father landed a monthly residency at Knitting Factory and has also played at Baby’s All Right, Honey’s, Kind Regards, Freehold, and at Governor’s Ball Music Festival 2018.

Always sitting on a large quantity of unreleased music, Slug is constantly striving for perfection and elegance in the raw, unabashed sonic clash he strives to create. When it comes to the party- Father Knows Best.

Well known on his native Paris circuit, Armless Kid is now breaking out on the wider international scene.  He's released his bustling, heartfelt house grooves on Rekids and the legendary Classic Music Company, is a Rinse FM regular and has an anything goes approach that has won him high profile fans like DJ Harvey and The Black Madonna. 

 

Opener ‘Shadows’ is a superbly warm deep house cut with real drive in the silky smooth drums.  It's perfect for cosy dance floors, while ‘Lost Days’ picks up the pace with raw and hurried kick drums and dusty piano keys bringing real beauty to the groove.  ‘Brute Factor Disco’ pumps any party with its urgent drum programming, explosive sense of energy and dazzling disco chords. Ayant pu rencontrer les équipes de la Croix Rouge à l’occasion d’une distribution alimentaire, il nous tenait donc à cœur d'agir en faveur de l’association.

The sanitary crisis has had consequences on vulnerable people such as students, undocumented workers or homeless people. We had a chance to meet with the Red Cross teams during a food distribution on the streets and from there, we decided to act and support this non-profit.
