Already an accomplished composer and producer, crafting music and soundscapes for film and television, Gensi AKA András Genser deploys a trio of smooth and inspiriting cuts on the ‘Primavera 707’ EP.  The title track gets the remix rub from British brothers Decius.

‘Primavera 707’ is tinged with a gloss and sheen, and a pop edge, that stays on the right side of classy.  Heavenly melodies skit around an effervescent vocal, as Gensi distributes bubbly acid lines and expansive synths that elegantly crescendo.

Decius stamp their rugged sound onto the remix of ‘Primavera 707’, having impressed via releases on their own Decius Trax imprint.  Chugging drums and bags of mechanical funk are plugged into this re-rub, as the vocal gets pulverized, and a dark & sleazy tone is forged.

Further explorations into acid are mined on ‘Humble Brush’, as the wiggly worm forages around energizing chords and weighty drums, whilst ‘The Great Body Buzz’ glides across the cosmos with booming 808 beats and intergalactic electronics.

Making his debut on Wax Nomads, Melbourne based producer CB delivers a four-track EP of synth-drenched excellence, with hints of italo influence and carefully programmed house rhythms featuring throughout. 

Opening track 'Frequency Modulation' is sun-kissed exploration of the Adriatic coast vibe, with bubbling arps and a meandering bassline that give way to lush keys and a sultry spoken word female vocal. Following this is 'Absolion', which takes the same recipe and thrusts it further into evening territories. The title track 'Cruise Control' moves even deeper into the night, lead by a driving bassline that picks up the energy to peak-time levels. Rounding it out is 'Force Majeure' which takes a slightly darker approach, focusing on relentless drum programing and pitch-bent synth stabs.

It had been a week of relentless flowers, cards and romantic gestures; most of which had been hastily disposed of. She no longer wanted to be reminded of the events that had led them to this point, yet these olive branches kept coming. But they were having the adverse effect - the higher the quantity, the more annoyed she became. The damage had been done and no matter the efforts now, it was not enough.

She may have come to notoriety through Floorplan, her DJ and production partnership with her father Robert hood, but Lyric has now firmly cemented herself as a talented producer in her own right. Released via Hood's own imprint M-Plant, her first solo work came in 2019 with the double-header ‘Nineteen / 11:11’, followed by another two tracker last year, ‘Everything / Social Distance’. Now she's returning for her hat-trick on the label: two cuts, 'Not Enough' and 'Praise You', which marry her personal tastes in techno and house with echoes of her production work as Floorplan.

Philadelphia based hip hop artist, Kameelah Waheed, grew up with music all around, with world beats, island and tribal vibes coming from inside her Islamic home. MTV meshed with rap blasting from every Philly radio station, while house parties were playing four to the floor and electronica. Her musical denial was the catalyst for her explosion into sound and later her versatility as an artist. This producer, writer and performer has worked within a myriad of styles from neo soul to hip hop, to house, releasing previously on BBE, Rapster Records, and Philly Through My Ear. In 2020 she dropped her highly respectable, ‘Holding On’ on Ramrock Records.
On ‘America the Beautiful’ Kameelah delivers powerful spoken word lyrics, pledging allegiance to the 
people of America. To the dreamers, the lovers, the thinkers, and the risk takers, at the same time she is questioning how many rights can America change? How many souls must it break? Kameelah skilfully delivers her conscious narrative alongside a rolling hip house beat. Reminiscent of Harlem’s Last Poets who spat lyrics about the 1960s African American civil rights movement, and Gil Scott Herons’ concern on social issues, conveying his message through a fusion of funk, soul, blues and fly lyrical content. This ‘Avant-funk’ is a nod to 80s New York and the Defunkt, Talking Heads, Ze Records sounds coming out of the city at that time. Loaded with talent, the poetry is written by the hand and from the heart of Kameelah Waheed, it is also produced by Kameelah alongside Kelly Murray, with cast of musicians that have worked with the likes of Lauren Hill and the legendary Diana Ross.
Reworks come courtesy of two of the UKs most prolific underground production squads. Black Science Orchestra’s Ashley Beedle heads up North Street West with Jo Wallace and Daren Morris, laying their signature moves and grooves down on the title track with a vocal, instrumental and dub. It’s a homage to composers of vintage US cop show themes – Lalo Schifrin and Quincy Jones, with an undercurrent of ‘street sounds’ and tough, inner city funk, you can almost see the steam coming up through the manhole covers.
Production collective of the moment, Bruise, have been enjoying the limelight and quite rightly so, with their ‘Grand Hi’ earmarked by the Guardian, and sync’d by Grand Theft Auto. Christian Campbell
works his magic again on both vocal and instrumental, taking the title track to a whole other level of 
euphoric and joyous orchestral house. It’s both dark and uplifting with those shades of D town techno with soul we’ve all come to love from Bruise.

It were as if he’d been dancing all his life – never had he ever imagined it might be this easy, this freeing and this wild. The music played loudly and bounced from wall to wall as each person smiled and moved in synchronised unison. It was care free, it was sexy, it was everything.

The red lights flickered and flashed, illuminating the glowing, magnificent features of each and every character in the room. They all had a story and a tale to tell – their each and every movement was how he would teach himself to know them and they would do similarly.

On this record he uses his craft and decades of experience to spin a timeless sound while adding his own licks and contemporary flourishes that give the Wanderist project such unique flavour.
