I just found out my remix of Tevo Howard's "Boing Pop" has been included - without my approval - on the Hed Kandi Beach House 2014 compilation. I usually feel honoured when my music is selected for these types of things but I mean Hed Kandi is this total horror-conglomerate that uses retarded imagery drawn straight from the sexual fantasies of horny twelve year old boys to pimp a very sad idea of house music to the masses, so this time I just feel depressed. What's worse is that the owner of Rebirth (the label who originally released my remix) edited the track - again without my approval - into something shorter and clumsier, completely fucking up the flow of the music. Please don't support this bullshit - if you like the tune, you can now download it (the real version) from my Soundcloud page, free of charge. Enjoy!

The Oberyn / Spyglass EP embodies that same O'Flynn spirit of laidback dance music we got well acquainted with the first time around. A sound so in vogue, we even dedicated a podcast to it last year. After James Blake dropped the A-side on his BBC Radio One residency, we were keen to get our mitts on the other track. Lo and behold – we present "Spyglass"! An insatiable groove of (surprisingly un-cheesy) sax and purple-tinged synth patterns, mellower in nature when compared to its bouncy exotic "Oberyn" counterpart. Another successful yield from one of dance music's most prosperous newcomers.

The music of Genius of Time has always been defined by a certain elegance and grace. Finding new ways into and out of the labyrinth that some people call (deep) house, one the Swedish duo’s inner strength is the uncanny ability to create tension, sustaining and playing with it, before rewarding the listener (or dancer) with a fulminating mirror ball. Same goes for their treatment of percussive elements. 
„Peace Bird“, the opener of GOT’s EP of the same name, is a prime-example of that technique: a tight build-up and an intricate breakdown lead to heavily strings and foolproof floor finesse. Coming along with „Smiling Into Eternity“ that mellows you down easy as well as the club ready  „Rymd01“, the whole thing is a more than worthy successor to GOT’s first EP for Running Back almost five years ago. Premiere: Laurence Guy 'This Isn’t My Best Light'

Searching for new ways to express himself, Maarten Smeets (one half of Detroit Swindle) has found a new perspective on music in his alter ego “Wanderist”. Here, he shares his unique view on contemporary electronic music with strong influences from dub, electro, techno and ambient in tempo’s that match the intensity, funk and drive of his sound. As Wanderist, he has been writing some of his more abstract work of recent times. His sound is melancholic yet euphoric, using powerful loops and dreamlike melodies to create a dense flow in his compositions. His debut release is signed to Aus music later in 2020 and he has also launched his own label titled ‘Transient Nature’ where his own work will be released along with the work of like-minded artists. With a large catalog of music ready to release and collaborations with various labels planned for 2021, the future is bright for Wanderist.
