Long Road Behind (Truckie Song)

“This Should Be Care” is a song written about the trauma caused by police responses in Australia — when people in crisis reach out for help but are met with fear, force, and violence instead of compassion.  

It’s a voice for the vulnerable: the autistic, the mentally ill, the distressed — and the families left to pick up the pieces after “care” turned into control.  

This isn’t anti-police — it’s pro-accountability.  Police need Traum informed care.

It’s a reminder that “protect and serve” should never mean “hurt and silence.”
