With the original release marking Rekids return from hiatus, Radio Slave's The Clone Wars is now revisited with a trio of new interpretations from three distinctive talents on house & techno.

On the A side, Markus Suckut moulds the original into the kind of no-nonsense rolling techno jam that has personified his releases for Mosaic and Figure. The B side enlists two US talents in the shape of Parris Mitchell and DJ Spider, with the former bringing a glitchy take on the jacking Chicago house that Mitchell perfected in his timeless productions for Dance Mania, and the latter shaping the track into crunchy weirdo techno that sits perfectly alongside his output for The Trilogy Tapes and his own NY-based Plan B Recordings.

After a successful debut year in 2016 on Soma, SLV kicks off 2017 in his suitably unique style with the Rises EP. The mysterious Berlin based producer has crafted a blazing 3 tracker that gracefully moves from hard hitting Deep Techno to more moving, melodic edged material. 

Connections gets things started at a fiery pace as SLV’s signature sub heavy, rolling percussion drives out atop a hollowed out vocal sample, aiming directly for peak time, dance floor action. Planetary goes a little deeper and hypnotic as yet more intense drums and crashing highs, combined with a mesmerising synth hook, end up in ferocious outcomes. Closing this latest release from SLV is Rises where he really takes things on a journey. Certainly things are at a slower pace than the previous two tracks but SLV makes up for that in emotive content. Beautifully crafted, delayed pianos are floated across driving beats and wisp-like hi hats. 

Another standout and individual creation for the, as yet, unidentified SLV.

OK, we don't know whether Grammy-award-winning Jazz icon Al Jarreau has actually already thought of the twelfth Cocoon Compilation when he wrote his 86' hit. But that the Cocoon Compilation L is all about love, is beyond debate: the love for electronic dance music, for its complexity and its diversity, the love for this global musical language and last not least the enthusiasm for the well-known and the still non-famous protagonists of this tonal romance that faithfully accompanies us through night and day for more than 30 years now. And that's why L begins with a proper love song: for "Equilibrio", the Berlin residents Tale Of Us have teamed up in the studio with their - currently extremely hip - boosters Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss aka Visionquest. The result is a romantic sonnet for the 21st century, and its dreamlike dabbed piano will be carrying us into some sunrise still - a perfect start for this compilation. On with the Tiefschwarz proteges Rampa & Re.You, whose club hit "Ghost" was essential in last year's Ibiza season. Also "Yeah Yeah Yeah feat. Meggy" bewitches with a unique sense for soulful vocals without baroque-like embellishment, and with its deep organ riff the dry and bass-heavy Trax House gains unimagined emotional intensity. DJ Tim Green from London, well-known for his releases on Four Twenty, Trapez and last not least for his "Lemon"-EP on Cocoon Recordings in 2011, generates in "Curious Smile" club-related but still shy Pop House from playful keyboard improvisations. This is what you - in a better world - would hear on standard-format radio. And also in the further course of the compilation the cornucopia is lavishly emptied: the Italian duo Doomwork, well-known for tracks for 100%%Pure and Tronic, is lustfully petering out in the summery space-time continuum with percussive Dub, gorgeous sound layers and slow-motion vocals; Graham Goodwin aka Sian is pumping out his subsonic rave signal "East Of Eden" to the front and will thus presents true challenges to some club PAs. Keinemusik act Adam Port, who seems not to have any stylistic anxieties, does his gusto for Boogie bass credit also with "Black Noise", while DJ globetrotter and Tronic label boss Christian Smith (currently on everyone's lips with his remixes for Carl Craig and Underworld) will make even bigger floors shake with his tropical, powerful energy. Two extraordinary percussion-driven energy infusions are then celebrated by Mark Reeve ("Planet Green") and DJ Paul Ritch from Paris, whose core statement "music never separated people" can't be emphasized enough, while the Dutch dream team Secret Cinema and Peter Horrevorts serve a surprisingly industrially-characterized Techno. The finale is initiated by the best known Israeli producer besides Guy Gerber, Guy J, whose "Genesis" finds a perfect balance between hypnotic melodies and demanding rhythms, totally in the manner of his works for John Digweed's Bedrock label. The last chord is set by Daniel Stefanik from Leipzig: his more than ten minutes long "Everything Goes Green" elevates the process of waiting for the right moment to an art form and is, with fragmented rhythms, patient enough to intonate grated chocolate instead of exuberant sweetness. There's no better way to capture the magic intensity of a terrific after hour party for ever and ever. An album to fall in love with!

A self-proclaimed pescatarian yoga nerd with a penchant for Techno, Liverpool-based DJ/Producer Paul Nolan makes his artist debut on Bedrock with the stunning Archetypes EP.

You've probably been listening and dancing to Paul Nolan for many years, but you might not have realised it. As a co-founder of the highly rated Chapter 24 Records, audio engineer to various legendary electronic artists, and as a renowned artist development guru, Paul has spent a decade working stealthily behind the scenes and leaving his indelible mark on the dance music landscape. Now, he is finally stepping out of the shadows to shine a spotlight on his unbridled artistic talents.

Paul is a prime example of an artist unafraid to push the boundaries whilst simultaneously delivering that essential emotional, physical and spiritual payoff on the dancefloor - an attitude that matches perfectly with Bedrocks forward-thinking creative ethos. The masterful simmering structure of Form Constants ebbs and flows and builds to a series of deliciously euphoric soaring crescendos that are simply irresistible. Meanwhile, Warrior is a decidedly different, yet no less engrossing beast a staccato alarm call to action powered by distinctive melodic percussion and wave after wave of monstrously dominant synth action. It is no wonder that Pauls production, engineering, mixing and mastering skills are so revered within the scene.

An intrepid and fearless attitude to sound design and pushing sonic boundaries led him to work as an engineer, sound designer and programmer for Sasha's critically and commercially acclaimed Late Night Tales album 'Scene Delete in 2016 (behind the scenes feature here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoulSQAedfo) and work with numerous other artists, including the likes of Arthur Baker, The Martinez Brothers, JunkieXL, Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation and Hollywood film composer Jeff Rona.

Now that he is finally stepping into the spotlight (and with an Asia Tour already under his belt), next comes a US DJ Tour taking place in early 2019, alongside a host of productions and remixes waiting in wings to be unveiled. Paul Nolan is primed to move to the forefront of the scene that he has tirelessly dedicated himself to for the past decade and the future looks very bright indeed.

Anfisa Letyago is a rising star of the Italian techno scene having on numerous occasions had tracks break into Beatports Top 100 sales chart. Born in the Siberian region of Russia, she has adopted Naples as her home, and become a regular DJ at many of the local events.

This is Anfisa Letyagos first release on Intec, but other imprints to have featured her music include an eclectic selection of labels ranging from Spinnin to Nervous. Still at a young age, she has already played at a number of festivals, and Carl Cox signed this release after already supporting many of her other tracks in his sets.

The opening track So Good breathes fresh life into a classic sample that gives the track an old school vibe. Added with just a hint of euphoria from the fluttering lead synth, this slice of peak time techno has a feel good mood whilst still packing a serious punch.

Keeping the good times vibe alive Catch The Spirit also makes use of a timeless sample fused with emotive synths and hard hitting percussion. Capturing the end of the night vibe, this track fully embraces the spirit of how a DJs set can unite a group of strangers on a dance floor.
