Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles are a four-piece band from North Wales/North West UK comprised of Billy Bibby/lead vocals, guitar; Thomas Hill/lead guitar; Matt Thomas/bass, vocals; and Ailis Mackay/drums. Since playing their first full band gig in November of 2015, it's been non-stop with close to 100 gigs and festivals in 40+ UK cities, combined with the release of a début EP and three follow-up singles. Hard work is paying off in the form a growing, grassroots fan base, as well as music industry recognition via two grant wins from Horizons/BBC Launchpad and Arts Council of Wales to further fuel new music development, touring, and promotion. 

Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles have caught the attention of numerous tastemakers including Adam Walton of BBC Introducing, Clint Boon, Phil Clifton, and Jo Good of Radio X, Tim Cocker of Virgin Radio UK, Jim Gellatly of Amazing Radio, NME, BBC Radio Wales, and over 100 radio and media outlets in the UK and abroad. 

Manchester legend Clint Boon describes the band's music as "that classic sort of British songwriting with a strong nod to Americana" naming Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen as points of reference and predicting "a massive future". The band's influences remain diverse and ever-changing, both classic and cutting edge, with new songs constantly being added to the live repertoire. Although the band formed recently, reviewers consistently remark that the group chemistry and level of musicianship are such that they play like a veteran ensemble. Bibby has clearly surrounded himself with talent. Experience also plays a key role considering Bibby's history as a UK Platinum Certified recording artist with Catfish and the Bottlemen, bringing to bear seven years of gigging and songcraft to every show and in every heartfelt song he's written.

Phoenix Calling started in July 2012 and have already shared the stage with the likes of The First, We Are Fiction, Tu Amore and a handful more up and coming bands. Formed in 2014, dubbed by Fred Perry Subculture and This Feeling as “Big in 2016”, Liverpool based four piece The Jackobins have taken the UK's music scene by storm, headlining and selling out venues across the country whilst appearing on some of the UK’s most prestigious festivals including: Reading & Leeds, Isle of Wight, Kendal Calling, Victorious, Tramlines, Live at Leeds, Dot to Dot, Sound City and Y Not Festival amongst many others.

The band has been championed by BBC Introducing Merseyside DJ Dave Monks, giving the band heavy airplay and inviting them for a live session, whist Radio X made their singles 'Hasty' and 'Nightfire' Track of The Week. 

Their latest two singles stirred a buzz around airing on BBC Introducing Merseyside, BBC 6, Radio 2 and Radio X.

Hasty - charted at #4 in Holland , 14 in Norway and 57 in Germany on iTunes.

Knaves are a sharp, upbeat, feel-good, indie band based in Sheffield. Having only formed in February 2014, they have already made their mark on the Steel City, being described by BBC Radio Introducing as "outrageously catchy" and receiving multiple plays. Knaves have also received a lot of airtime on stations across the country including the National Student Radio chart show. Following relentless gigging around the Sheffield area, Knaves have built up a large student following and were chosen out of over 1,700 bands to play at Y Not Festival 2014 alongside the likes of Razorlight, White Lies and The Fratellis. According to an independent review by '7BitArcade', “Their music was better than some of the main stage bands”.

Having been ranked one of the ‘Top 5 Student Bands in the UK’ by online student magazine ‘The Uniion’, Knaves released their highly anticipated ‘Suncatcher’ EP to glowing reviews, with a huge headline show in Liverpool at Studio 2, Parr Street in 2014. They have since returned to Sheffield with a huge shows at The Leadmill and Plug.

2015 promises to be an even bigger year for the band with the release of debut single 'Breathe', which was aired exclusively on BBC Introducing ahead of release. Having made their first London appearance in February at the renowned Dublin Castle in Camden to a huge turnout, 'London Unsigned' said the band "brought a sound seldom herd on the streets of London these days, lively, fresh, new and exciting.

“Making their first festival appearance, Sheffield’s Knaves have the weather on their side this afternoon; they had a decent sized crowd to begin with but the torrential rain outside had people squeezing into the tent to avoid the rain. I don’t think they could have picked a better band to watch to hide for cover either; their upbeat indie brought a much needed summer vibe to a wet Saturday. Getting the crowd going, clapping a long, I can’t help but think that if more of the audience had heard them before there would be some kind of sing alongs going down.
