It’s the collaboration we’ve all been waiting for! 
The careers of both Catz N Dogz and Eats Everything have been intrinsically linked since the Polish duo debuted the incredible Mr Edible via his agenda-setting ‘Entrance Song’ on Pets in 2011. 
Their relationship was compounded by dirtybird dynamics; both acts sitting on the fringes of house and techno, neither side shy of the rich taste of bass, the work of both Eats Everything and Catz N Dogz has always sat side-by-side…. But never together. Until now. 
Finding time in their hectic international DJ schedules, amid releases on the likes of Hypercolour, Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, dirtybird, Defected, Mothership and Pets the trio have collided to conjure up two of the most distinctive house tracks of the coming season. Tried and tested in their sets throughout the summer they’re finally ready to unleash them on you. Care to take a suck on their ‘Stinky Lollipop’?
Described by Eats Everything in a recent interview as “heads down, hands up”, ‘Evil Tram’ is a thunderous slab of feel-good. Slinky organs pierce the chop-slapping rhythm as more and more elements are introduced; a sexy female vocal loop, hip-snapping percussion, crucial speed garage laser gun bubbles and an almighty drum crescendo on the build. A timeless, jacking brew with subtle nuances of party insanity the execution is so natural it’s hard to believe it’s their first collaboration.

Up next: ‘Where House’. From the moment the staccato vocal hit and tight rolling percussion fires out of the speakers you’ll understand the title’s reference. A Hardy-hard rhythm with shades of Detroitian tech gnarliness; it’s the perfect foil to the vibrancy of ‘Evil Tram’. Gritty, growling and peppered with tripped out twisted samples and loopy loopery, it’s designed for the deepest, darkest of warehouses where your only friends are the lasers and bass bins. 

B1- Catz Eats Dogz - Where House - snippet

The pilgrimage for untouched sanctuaries bring us new Autochtones, this time from the highlands of Kanata, from where little Chris Hreno emerges with a native instinct for aural acoustic prayers.

As part of the global diaspora looking for the Holy Fernsehenturm Grail, the Canadian is already known for a wide and open personal vision of the musical narrative, being able to encrypt almost every possible matter one can fill inside the four to the floor space-time boundaries. 

With ‘Parts Unknown’ he unveils his deepest beatmaking mindset, delivering a neverending Highway 17  which aims to take us from NoWhereLand to EveryWhereCity through an acid spiced decayed locked groove ; perfectly crafted to  unchain us from our daily mortal duties. From the Ottawa Valley, he dubs the night away with yet a faster pace than the usual alike B1 tool.  Finally he draws the Little Squirl to warm those magic in-between hours, showing us how intimate and personal a pure Autochtone soul can be…

Andrea Fiorito's Voodoo Grooves 
Andrea Fiorito is a celebrated artist with over twenty years experience to his name. With releases under his belt on esteemed labels Get Physical, Haunt, & Broquade, he now makes his highly-anticipated return to Cynosure Recordings with forthcoming digital LP release - Voodoo Grooves.

In late 2013, Andrea Fiorito’s suffered the loss of his uncle and decided to travel to South America to seek out a new beginning and perspectives. The newfound musical clarity this gave him led to the conception of ‘Voodoo Grooves’

“The album was recorded after my travels to South America at my house in Puglia, Italy. The studio was once my grandfather’s and is surrounded in 200 year old furniture and art. The environment here was sensually rich, and fuelled me with a huge source of inspiration for creating music after a long period of inactivity”

As a precursor to the album, Fiorito delivers us a three-track vinyl only teaser under the same title to give us taste of what is to come.

The opening track, ‘Rafael’, (the name of Fiorito’s aforementioned uncle, and a tribute to the man he described as a ‘best friend and guru’)  Is a poignant piece indeed, with stirring strings sitting alongside a delicate assembly of pianos.

‘Give Yourself To Me’, an instant dance floor mover that pushes things forward with tightly woven snare volleys that get you marching from the get go, accompanied by a punishing low end, and the occasional guitar lick for good measure.

The closing track ‘Brain and Butter’ is a propulsive tribal excursion designed for twilight zone dancefloor moments. Save for the occasional keyboard tinkles, the song is free of melody, comprised instead of a dense latticework of rolling percussion.

Voodoo Grooves digital LP will be released 6th April 2015.

With so much high quality music released over the course of 12 months in House as a new artist it can be difficult to make yourself standout from the crowd. One duo having no such problem separating themselves from the pack are Azimute - a new collaborative project from Cesare Marchese and scene veteran Philippe Quenum - who after coming to to our attention via their mightily impressive debut EP for Crosstown Rebels and impressing with a series of blistering DJ performances return to their production fold for the release of the 'We Are The Sound' EP.

Arriving on Marchese's highly regarded Serialism imprint, the four tracker shows an eclecticism beyond most of the contemporaries with each cut on shining a light on a different aspect of their musical personality. Rockey Washington - who'll be no stranger to fans of Snoop Dogg and Kanye West - takes the lead by delivering the vocals on the releases title cut, while the driving percussion of La Terra will ensure that it picks plenty of main room play as dance floors begin to fill this Autumn. Where the EP really comes into its own however is the flip side with both Everything Is Under Control and Way Back garnering multiple listens here at DT HQ. We enjoyed both tracks so much that we just knew we were going to have secure one for premiere and a quick phonecall to our friends over at Serialism later, here we are.  Stripped back, patient in its approach and full of character stream the curiously titled Everything Is Under Control for yourself now.

Greta Cottage Workshop's 'soul' purpose is to get great unheard electronic music into the world, with no compromise. There is no defining style here and releases range from slower more melodic jams to housier cuts and beyond. Curator and label head Matt Densham has put together a steady stream of releases from Greta Cottage (it's a real place!) in Torquay, Devon county since 2009 and the musical output is not unlike the landscape in the south-west of England - in one word, diverse. The label is also home to a radio show with a more upbeat approach which often features guests on Soundart FM every Saturday.

GCW's next release comes from Grimes Adhesif (soundcloud). The Wales-based producer is a bit of an unsung veteran in the scene with releases dating back almost two decades, with the majority of them coming out on his own label Mind Your Head Records. He's also part of a tight-knit crew of Welsh producers and DJs that includes the likes of Duckett, Tom Demac, Steevio and Suzybee the latter two of which also organize Freerotation, an annual intimate festival which Grimes Adhesif is booked to play every year.

His forthcoming EP "Clovelly" has apparently been in the works for quite some time, with our title track and premiere having been aired on GCW Radio over two years ago. 'Kalender Days' is a hypnotic tune featuring the late Alex Ookpik on vocals. Steady click-clacking percussion paired with some melancholic chords lend a mesmerizing air to the song which is further complemented by Alex's soothing vocals, appropriately reverberating in the background. Despite the slightly somber mood, Kalender Days is actually a fairly upbeat affair. With a rolling sub bass driving the groove, it's perfect for the wee hours.

Dirtybird’s troublesome twosome, Eats Everything and Justin Martin, join forces once again for a single-track release, 'The Gettup’. Marking the first official collaborative release on dirtybird for the pair, ‘The Gettup’ channels midsummer mayhem just as much as it does a heaving basement, combining the artists’ penchant for house music frivolity and organ-shaking bass in equal measure.
 
Eats and Justin sculpt a sultry house groove from the off, interspersing the slinky sounds with mischievous vocal effects. An initial percussion breakdown paves the way for perhaps the most filthy bass line crunch you ever heard: all bow down to the almighty Gettup! Vivid chord stabs, vocal reverbs and some seriously inspired drum work all pull their weight on this skillful, larger than life club record. Then again, what else would you expect from dirtybird’s first transatlantic bromance collar.
