Favourite hardware instruments used on these tracks: Korg Polysix, Ensoniq ESQ-1, EPS 16+, Mirage, Sequential Multitrak, Kawai K3, Roland MKS-50, Boss DR-55, E-mu Drumulator, Paia Proteus, Moog Minitaur and more. My old Hondo(?) guitar and the Kartoffel Bass that is a converted kitchen table. Software: Reaper, Sound Forge, Fasttracker II (now ported to modern OS by 16-bits.org). 
I sometimes (very rarely) also use softsynths or I sample them into Fasttracker. There are no rules. You can play music on anything that makes a sound.
A footnote: What is #IndustrialPop? It is the use of non-traditional sounds in what is essentially pop songs. Back in the days when Internet was grey and did not sing, I made up this term to describe my early computer sample based tunes since I could not find any genre that my music would fit into.  
Its sounds can be any sort of recorded audio, used in place of drums and normal instruments, but often in conjunction with synthesizers and broken audio equipment, heavily processed.
In the classic industrial music genre pioneered by Einsturzende Neubauten, power tools and machinery was often used to create rhythms and ambience.
Industrial Pop is the sound of the future, where it will be seen as retro post-industrial nostalgia.
