She has stayed true to the music she loves in any crowd she's played to. She's played alongside some of the biggest names in the game at well-loved venues including Electric Brixton, Hidden, Egg, 93 Feet East and Cafe 1001.

You can catch Ewok live in the South East regularly, especially in Brighton.  This podcast mix represents his club style, flicking effortlessly through many styles of drum & bass.

Latitude weaves a haunting, ethereal atmosphere from psychedelic stabs and cranial melodic elements.  A crisply-imagined drum beat moves the experience forward at its own pace through an underground cave system, many miles from civilisation.

Prime Number picks up the pace a little with a busier rhythm section whilst retaining this release’s laid-back feel with a thoughtful, cerebral vibe.

As one would expect given the track titles, neither tune beats about the bush.  The menacing, rumbling intro of Destroyer leads directly to philthy overdriven bass rips before dropping into a stomping, claustrophobic rhythm with which even the most nimble of foot will struggle to keep pace.

Genocide presents a slightly friendlier façade for all of 40 seconds before again taking a snarling turn darkwards, this time into a tearing, swaggering stepper. If, as the sample suggests, this is the future of the human race, a stab-proof vest may be a wise investment.

The Last Hero - Angel Fish (AutomAte Freebie)

Japanese-Laotian-Australian artist http://soundcloud.com/fuj kicks of 2016 in much the same fashion as 2014 and 15 – with a hotly anticipated release on AutomAte Deep!  With such a cultural crossover building up his personal influences, there's something uniquely diverse about Fuj's productions. Clean and crisp on first glance, peer deeper into the abyss and intricate soundscapes appear from below the surface.

Death Trader weaves a thick electric sunrise; effortless, dream-like atmosphere and totemic instruments appear over the horizon, supplanted by scratching synth bass and steadily thumping sub.

Kabuki is the more rolling of the two.  A precise, robotic technoid groove bringing to mind an android army marching heads-down into a black hole.  There is no escape from the hypnotic rhythm as we are pulled over the event horizon.

Gasket features a veritable German dream-team with the combined musical talents of Instinkt & Audio Habitat and the vocal prowess of Eatbrain’s MC Kryptomedic.  Snarling basses and full-bodied drums underpin Krypto’s relentless social commentary.

Wreckless has been a firm AutomAte fixture since the labels’ inception.
Music teacher by day, producer by night and dedicated to the cause, Wreckless embodies everything that is AutomAte’s M.O.  Able to turn his hand to a variety of styles, from beautiful soundscapes to distorted filth, a very real emotion and level of human connection shines through all of his work.

Wreckless releases on a number of labels and this, his first artist EP for this imprint, sees him once again save his toughest output for AutomAte.  Opening track Le Monde sets the scene with a grid of tight kick drums providing framework for abrasive bass rips and a wriggling, squelchy 303 acid line.  Next comes Kruger Algae, an absolutely storming piece of tech dnb featuring Onkeys; not for the faint-hearted or warm-up DJs, this cut destroys dancefloors.

Next up, Broken Teeth slaps us repeatedly with cold, hard snares, keeping us permanently stunned as we float amid a stomach-churning sea of gnarly distortion.  Finally, The Doctor delivers a hectic, highly strung vibe as a huge malfunction threatens the very fabric of space and time, giving us our cue to exit on the double!

This latest chapter aims to showcase two sides of a stylistic coin, placing old-school vibe-led pieces directly alongside punchy modern productions, demonstrating that it takes all sorts to feed a healthy scene.

http://soundcloud.com/phonograph opens the EP with New Horizon: a thoroughly modern, hard-hitting, swaggering masterclass in groove and grunt.  The killer combination of funk and weight will win this track a place in many a record bag.

http://soundcloud.com/ewokdj may not have been seen in public since AM8E006 but has been working solidly with the AutomAte crew behind the scenes.  Heavy Armour delivers a compatible vibe with his previous solo efforts for the label, rescued from deep in the techy, dark traditions of old school DnB.

http://soundcloud.com/sl8r-dnb ’s offering Conflict is a more contemporary, head-nodding, foot-tapping groove.  Equally at home on the headphones or in the dance, there is a spring in its step that belies its simplicity.

Hungarian newcomer http://soundcloud.com/them3chanikal draws this chapter to a close with a light & energetic techy roller.  Back Of Beyond offers plenty of pace and, rather than an ending, leaves the series feeling wide open for the next instalment.

With M-Set bringing the foreboding, darkly lit atmospherics and Agman riding the bassline with horrorshow vocals, it's a match that will discharge crowds worldwide. Released on AutomAte, never shying away from the more down & dirty records, they're here for a knockout with old-school stylistic features whilst incorporating contemporary production standards. M-Set deliver once again and, with Gora's help, bring their music into an even murkier dimension.

Iqama is brooding, with middle-eastern flares and crunchy snare. Winding up slowly, it focuses on the journey, slowly drawing you in inch by inch. With each loop, you're drawn ever deeper, until it catapults you into a crashing whirlpool of snapping beats and driving bassline. M-set are masters of their craft, slicing up layers of sound and hitting you harder with every segment.

Constantly changing direction, it doesn't give you time to breathe. It's as relentless as it is heavy-hitting, with a complex design which would be intimidating to even the most experienced producer. ‘The Frog' unites Fuj & Cirrus for a snapping, driving underground anthem which lets you know exactly what these artists are about. Lumbering but never once losing impact, it's littered with nastily distorted LFO and grinding beat patterns. Not for the faint hearted, Fuj & Cirrus don't disappoint. Cirrus comes next with ‘Ether', again bringing the edgier, grunting sounds present throughout its predecessor, while utilising vocal samples to take you through the drops. The pace is then increased, switching between layers and giving no hope of pulling yourself out of its construction line of snipping drums and lasers.

Fuj offers up next, with climatic, quaking sub bass and smashing kick throughout ‘Gun of a Son'. Its percussion and crashing breaks are intimidating, killing any commercial vibes in the vicinity. Rounding off the EP is ‘Aphotic Zone'; Cirrus jumps on remix duties for Fuj this time, once again integrating their production might and creating a towering concoction of creepy atmospherics and wavering voice notes.

Fuj and Cirrus are not to be underestimated. Between them they're invading the underground and moving towards the big leagues.

Amoss, a producer/DJ duo from Herefordshire, England. Having met in High School, James and Andy wrote and performed music in bands before discovering electronic music, specifically Drum &amp; Bass. 

With their debut release 'Glurg monster' in 2010 on Cyclone Recordings the duo jumped onto the scene in style. Since then they have now moved up the ranks releasing on Renegade Hardware with their track 'Flex' on the Inception EP and most recently teaming up with the Horsemen on the Horsementality LP. They are currently the driving force towards Kent based label Horizons Music with whom they have already released 2 singles and their highly acclaimed 'The Spectrum EP' with many more waiting in the wings for 2012.

Taking inspiration from across the board of Drum &amp; Bass, their style varies through gritty, hard hitting beats and distorted basslines to deep, technical and experimental sound design.

We share a mutual love of dark, techy drum & bass, although we are involved with a range of other bass-led genres. We DJ and write music individually and together. We run the AutomAte family of digital labels, including AutomAte, AutomAte Deep and AutomAte Tech. AutomAte aims to bring you the best in edgy drum & bass, aimed square at the dancefloor, from rising stars to established artists, from chunky steppers to dark rollers and all manner of other fancy-ticklers. The parent label has already chalked up Radio 1 airplay from Friction, support from Drum & Bass Arena and has caught the attention of more DJs than you could shake a stick-insect at.

The Deep label aims to put the warmth back into drum & bass with a range of deep, eclectic, inspirational music, influenced by anything from the Far East to South America and everything in between. AutomAte Deep was launched in 2013 and has already picked up Radio 1 airplay from Nihal plus support from Raiden, EBK, Morphy, The Untouchables, Mental Forces, J Robinson, Ortokore, Philth, Stunna, Marukomu, Dexta & Mauoq (Diffrent Music).

The Tech label showcases a variety of gritty drum & bass music, from amen tracks and heavy-steppers to neuro and hardcore styles. We like it grimy with a slight attitude problem and an infectious groove.
