Yulia Niko returns with another compelling contribution to her forthcoming ‘Body Language Vol. 26’ compilation, as she teams up with enigmatic UK producer Alfonso Muchacho for ‘Bad Habits’ – a cover of Jenny Burton’s iconic 1985 anthem. Out now via Get Physical Music ahead of the compilations full release on September 19, the track continues to shape the sound and spirit of one of electronic music’s most in demand talents.

Taking inspiration from Burton’s timeless vocal hook, ‘Bad Habits’ breathes new life into a classic with a modern, underground twist. At once groovy, hypnotic and irresistibly soulful, the track pairs a rich female vocal performance – full of warmth and attitude – with stripped- back, rolling percussion and a darkly polished low-end. The result is a simmering late-night weapon that pays homage to its roots while speaking fluently to today’s dancefloors.

More raw and underground in tone than the compilation’s earlier singles, ‘Bad Habits’ reflects the creative synergy between two distinct but complementary forces. Yulia Niko, known for her emotionally charged minimalism and deep club sensibility, brings her signature finesse to the mix – clean, elegant, and loaded with tension. Opposite her, UK-based producer Alfonso Muchacho infuses the track with his esoteric approach to sound design, weaving in haunting textures, tight grooves and a sense of mysticism that’s become his trademark.

Helsloot & mOat team up with Pete Josef for the third single from Body Language Vol. 27 with the soulful and uplifting “Guard Your Joy.”

Get Physical Music announces a new edition of its iconic Body Language series with Volume 27, curated by Dutch producer Helsloot. Launched in the early 2000s, Body Language began as an influential DJ mix series, showcasing underground trends and forward-thinking club sounds. Over time, it has evolved into an artist-driven concept album, with past editions curated by Dixon, DJ Hell, WhoMadeWho, Francesco Tristano, Monkey Safari, Yulia Niko, and label founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y.

Now stepping into the role of curator for Volume 27, Helsloot brings his melodic, vocal-driven sound to the forefront. Known for his global breakthrough with Tinlicker on “Because You Move Me”, Helsloot has since built a reputation through releases on Anjunadeep, Domino, This Never Happened, and Get Physical.

Following the singles “Be Strong” and “We Get High”, the journey continues with the heartfelt “Guard Your Joy”, a collaboration with mOat and featuring the sublime vocals of Pete Josef. Built on a flowing rhythm and airy groove, the track carries a warm bass melody beneath Josef’s soulful delivery. The arrangement evolves with effortless precision, creating a blend of intimacy and dancefloor energy that highlights the strengths of each collaborator.

The song itself began in a traditional way, with guitar and notepad, giving it a raw, organic foundation. Lyrically, it reflects on relationships and loss, asking what remains after everything is said and done — and what is truly worth protecting. The answer, as Josef delivers with warmth and sincerity, lies in joy and friendship. mOat, a collective of three producer/DJs with a rich discography, bring their distinctive touch—already championed by artists such as Solomun, Keinemusik, Damian Lazarus, LP Giobbi, Patrick Topping, and Hot Since 82. With acclaimed releases on Diynamic, Aus, Love Attack, and Armada, their contribution adds depth and richness to the single. Meanwhile, Pete Josef’s celestial voice and life-affirming lyrics lift the track even higher. A celebrated singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, Josef has built a reputation through his solo work and collaborations across electronic music, bringing an unmistakable emotional weight to every project he touches.

Juliann has gone from local hero to breakout star in a short space of time with gigs across Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean. He has also dropped tunes on Knee Deep in Sound, his own label Temps Libre Records, and many more, and impresses once again here. 

Dancin' On My Own features Indira May, a UK based vocalist who has featured on Gemini Gemini and Higher Ground. The track is a deep cut tune with warm, rubbery drums and broody pads that make a richly melancholic atmosphere. The vocal layers in smoky soul and it's perfect for intimate back rooms. 

The Nick Morgan Remix pairs things back to an even more blissed out sound with meditative grooves and pensive chords that sooth mind and body. Meloko & Konvex then bring extra percussive flair and rolling fills, shakers and cosmic synth details for a more otherworldly sound. 

All three tunes are tasteful cuts for discerning dancers.
