Alessandro Cortini is an Italian musician, producer, composer, and instrument builder. 

Cortini is one of the foremost figures of contemporary electronic music, best known for his haunting, atmospheric work. Alongside being a longstanding member of Nine Inch Nails, he is highly prolific and has released a steady stream of his own heady music on luminary labels including Mute, Hospital, and Important Records for the past decade. Throughout his shadowy rise to fame, he has collaborated with the likes of Lawrence English, Daniel Avery and Merzbow (to name a few). Balancing dark ambience with smokey, pulsing rhythms, his compositions are perfectly restrained, textured and mesmeric. 

Cortini was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 through his work with Nine Inch Nails, making history as the only Italian musician to have ever been honored with this recognition. 

In 2021, in collaboration with boutique synth builders Make Noise, Cortini released his own, custom-designed, semi-modular synth, “Strega” (Italian for ‘witch’). That same year, he used Strega to build his latest full length, Scuro Chiaro [Mute], which Pitchfork described as “pitched somewhere between purgatory and the planetarium ... consistently managing to thrill and surprise”. 

In addition to years of extensive worldwide touring, Cortini has also soundtracked fashion shows including Alexander McQueen, Dior, and several of Fendi’s presentations. In 2022, he exhibited a high-concept audio installation called “Nati Infiniti” for Sonar 2022 at Museu de Lisboa’s “Fábrica de Moagem.” A live version of “Nati Infiniti” is set to debut at Berlin Atonal in 2023.

Alessandro Cortini’s music has been licensed for use in television, film and documentaries, games, and commercials, including FX’s hit show The Bear, “Thank You Very Much” a documentary about Andy Kaufman, Samsung, BMW, Sony, and Netflix. Remixes have also been a part of Cortini’s identity – remixing the likes of Depeche Mode to Mogwai to Death Cab For Cutie, Yann Tiersen to Vatican Shadow, and more between and beyond.

MeVdA is a Swiss experimental noise project started in 2007 by Attila Folklor.

Ivo São Bento is an exploratory sound artist and aural composer from Lisbon based in Graz.

By working preferably fully improvisational each performance by São Bento is solely focused on the respective present moment, resulting in a myriad of unique sonic outcomes and allowing for the creation of (and in) “complete natural flow” - the focal point of São Bentos work.

From sculpting vast and ever-evolving sonic spaces by multi-layering carefully tailored processed sounds, field recordings and electro acoustic elements to meticulously crafting simplistic musical blueprints with purposeful precision using old analogue machines - the work of the Portuguese electronic music veteran creates a variation of aural environments - pleasant, immersive and bright as well as dense, heavy, dissonant and unexpected channeling.

Under the moniker “VelgeNaturlig” he has released over 32 full-length records, some of which have been published through international major labels and has been performing both nationally and internationally, also playing selected shows in the United States.

MULO MUTO is a ritual trip inside your worst nightmares and an unpredictable mix of doomed noises.
Beware the monsters, beware yourself!

Biography

Mulo Muto (MM) was created by two passioned music makers who originally met in Zurich (Switzerland) in 2012. Both originally come from the Italian speaking part of the country but followed very different musical paths and only met after leaving their home region. 
Joel Gilardini is a guitar player and a sound researcher. Before starting MM he created The Land Of The Snow (avantgarde metal), played with Lunatic Fringe (fusion crossover) and started to open as a solo‐performer for Nik Bärtsch’s Ronin (ECM) on regular basis at Exil (a well-known Zurich’s club).
Attila Folklor followed other paths starting with punk and death metal bands until he founded Insomnia Isterica (grindcore), which is his most active band, and MeVdA (experimental drone noise). He also runs L’è Tütt Folklor Records since 2003, a DIY label mainly focused on grindcore and noise. 
The need to experiment with sounds and noises is what bounded the two members; they just sat down in a squat’s rehearsal room in Zurich and started to play together. 
In their first year of activity (May 2013 - May 2014) MM used the basic approach of drums + guitars to create the base of their sound which took a lot of inspiration from doom metal. Everything was enriched by the use of sounds and noises created by analogue synths and loop layers and occasionally by the use of treated vocals. With this set-up MM played four gigs with bands like Mombu (IT), Zolle (IT), Free Nelson Mandoomjazz (UK) and others and released their first tape “Distorted Rituals” on Attila’s label. 
After this first year of activity, MM decided to leave the metal-driven base of their sound to concentrate on an electronic research and released another C90 tape using their alter egos MeVdA and Joel Gilardini to explore the transition.
At the end of 2014 the promo CD-r “Gutting Pieces” was self-released as a free give-away to friends and fellow music makers. Old Bicycle Records later released a split tape with B E T A (Italy). At the same time, MM started to play live with the new set-up. 2015 saw the release of “Eclipse And Equinox” (C60) and “Live VIII & V” (C90) on L’è Tütt Folklor Records. “Eterna Caduta” (C60) was the first release of 2016 and was followed by a split tape with Italian legend Sshe Retina Stimulants released by Luce Sia.
MM has one and only goal: sonic exploration. It may sound naïve and pretentious, but even Attila and Joel have sometimes issues describing and tagging their sound in two or three words. To put it simply, MM is a sort of chimera that speaks the languages of noise, ambient and drone mixed with some heavy riffs and ritual elements.
