C'est pendant le confinement en Grande-Bretagne que E.L.I  (aka Mike Smith aka @crossover network) a eu l'idée de cet E.P pour se sortir du marasme ambiant. Et quelle sortie... Tout au long des six titres, il enchaîne les bombes electro futuristes dans une ambiance post apocalyptique.
L'E.P.  Misery Inc  a été composé sur TR-707, TT-303, MS20, DX21 ce qui lui permet de développer des sonorités acid et dark toute en élégance crépusculaire.  L'influence EBM est évidente sur certains titres, comme Freaks at Play et le clin d'oeil aux lointains cousins D.A.F. ou Front 242 sonne ici comme un hommage réinterprété de façon brillante.
Quant à Wishing You Weren't Here (la track proposée ici en avant première), c'est un manifeste pour les générations futures, la voix robotisée vient appuyer les sons froids mais en laissant tout l'espace aux machines pour s'exprimer.

C'est un vrai plaisir que d'écouter Misery Inc, un très bon E.P intelligent, référencé sans plagier par quelqu'un qui a beaucoup écouté de musique, beaucoup assimilé et qui a su tirer intelligemment parti de ses influences. 
Ecoutez la track. Et dès que possible (le 11 mai) écoutez son album, gros plaisir garanti.

Samo Records is thrilled to introduce Extase Urbaine's debut EP, "Sacred Winds"! Hailing from Athens, the DJ/Producer presents 4 tracks that delve into the darker realms of Techno leftfield.
Kicking off the EP is the title track, “Sacred Winds”, a hypnotic burner that sets the tone. “1990” ramps up the energy, while “Wet Abyss” unleashes a high-tempo debauchery monster. Slowing things down, “Hide in the Light” offers a mesmerizing blend of new beat and trance.
On the remix front, we have the returning Alpha Sect who speeds up “Hide in the Light” with a Techno / EBM angle. And last but certainly not least, Zaatar puts her signature spin on “Sacred Winds”.
 
“Sacred Winds” is out on March 1st.

“WOMB” marks OTTOMAN GRÜW’s first long format release and debut release on @x-img. This seven track album seamlessly integrates his varied influences, showcasing his adeptness at traversing the expansive possibilities of Industrial inspired electronic music. Ominous atmospheres and rhythms cross between EBM, Techno, Electropunk and Ambient, with infectious vocal elements found throughout. The album also features collaborations with like minded artists such as Prophän, Incendie and Lvcerate.

The idea behind “WOMB” stems from the enigmatic relationship we cultivate with the divine - especially in our times of global sorrow, where faith wavers or seems elusive. The layer of noise by which every track is surrounded echoes the yearning of souls adrift. This spiritual disquiet is mirrored by the album’s sonic exploration of body horror, dissecting the vulnerability of our physical existence while reflecting the pervasive anxiety of our own impermanence. Where do we go when we dissolve?
