A FarOut Halloween

This sound piece is the completed version of my first project for FND 112 Experimental Audio. What my intention is to create a sense of satire which expresses the comparison and contrast between the mother nature and modern human society. The whole piece contains three sections, horses vs cars, farm animals vs restaurant and forest vs battlefield. Honestly, the three sections and the subjects that each section includes are actually irrelevant to each other; however, the only connection which interlaces all the activities together is the various similarities of sound. For example, the sound of F1 race car's engine is similar to the sound of horse‘s whinny, the burp sound is close to the frog's croak, and the buzz of bees and the sound of helicopter's screw propeller are also similar in the same frequency, etc. The whole soundtrack presents an imaginary montage which is based on similarities of the sounds from natural environment and human social activities. The series of events is  like how my brain functions and connects things when I think of nature and modern society. I hope the nonsense and the ridiculousness from this piece can not only make people laugh but also make people rethink about the essence the reality which we've been living in with a different perspective.

In this 30-second clip you hear someone breaking into a house and running through all of the drawers. They don't find anything as they begin to panic and start to breathe heavily. Sure enough, they run into the home owner and a shot is fired. The wife then screams when she finds out what has happened to her husband and you can start to hear police sirens coming to the house to check on the scene once the shot is fired and the house alarm has been going off for a while.

Hlavná myšlienka projektu je práca človeka v dielni. Ten pri svojej činnosti neustále vytvára zvuky, ktoré už sú akousi rutinou a ani si neuvedomuje, že do svojej činnosti prenáša akýsi skrytí rytmus. Zlom nastane až pri nehode. To je pre neho niečo nové, ale keďže mal nasadené dobré tempo, rozhodne sa v práci pokračovať a implementovať bolesť pri úmyselnom sebapoškodení do celkového rytmu práce.

-Zvuky náradia (kladivo, pílka, kliešte, pilník, vŕtačka,..) som nahrával malým mikrofónom (určený na skype telefonovanie) doma v garáži. Na nahrávanie som použil priamo Audacity.
-Krik a zvuk noža mám z webu ww.freesound.org (zvuky sú tam uploadované pod Creative Commons license).
-Zvuk "hmm" je z webu http://www.pacdv.com/ (volne šíriteľné zvuky, len zákaz redistribúcie za peniaze)
